Wow!! Nice to see I'm not the only ghost prowling this thread.

Just FYI, I do have some oil seepage around the crankcase breather and definitely some minor seepage around the cylinder head gasket area. This is typical 'Bajaj' behaviour, but this seepage definitely does not explain almost 500 ml of oil vanishing off.

I will check the airbox over the weekend, but there should have been a slight dip in power as the air filter should have struggled to breathe with the excess oil. I will also check the plugs for excess oil.

But to know the real story, will have to wait for a few months until I do open heart surgery to check the cylinder/head/valves to see if the source of the damage. With no time for long rides until later this year, I will continue topping up oil when it drops and I will continue riding in the city until something else goes drastically wrong. For now, I don't have the time/patience/interest/money to invest in fixing up this bike, maybe sometime towards the end of the year will think about it. For now, will continue to flog this dead horse.
oldman: 135 is absolutely decent top-end to be getting out of a "Stock" "220 Fi". When my bike was younger and completely stock it also used top out at 136-138 across all conditions. It's a different story that with taller gearing (thanks to the taller rear tyre) it was going all the way to 144-145.

I know Ashwin and yourself are Dtsi owners, but I thought black_asp and oldman are Fi owners.

The P220 DTS-Fi has become something of a cult thanks to owners like you who put in time and effort to maintain it past the 100k mark.

Just FYI, I do have some oil seepage around the crankcase breather and definitely some minor seepage around the cylinder head gasket area. Just pull the cap off the AF box drain (a ***** to remove and put back considering the position), if you find the missing oil there then you can go for an overhaul whenever you feel adequate as long as you top up the oil and drain the AF box once in a while considering that your bikes FI.

but there should have been a slight dip in power as the air filter should have struggled to breathe with the excess oil. I will also check the plugs for excess oil.
Spot on, after the air filter box the SP is precisely the next thing to check. As for power loss due to oil build-up in the AF box, very unlikely as you’ll notice smoke coming from the exhaust due to the oil being consumed via intake way before you’ll notice any actual power drop.
Since you’re running off of a FI, it would be safer to inspect the AF box sooner than later to avoid the intake consuming blow-by oil and messing up your pump and injectors.

Hey folks. My 220Fi has the right side mirror missing and it is not available in the Gurgaon SVC. Can anyone tell me if the Apache mirror is a direct fit on it ? (Tend to remember something to this affect long time back)

Another option is, what i have done. Just put the Pulsar handlebar mirrors. Some 250 bucks a pop and 30 rupee yoke. And saves you from the fairing vibrations and allows you to see much more than the fairing mounted mirrors.

You can fashion something out to neatly block away the open holes on the fairing for the mirrors.

That sounds perfect. The existing mirrors were pretty much for admiring ones biceps only.

Do not use apache mirrors. They are heavy and will brake fairing frame. Unnecessary welding needed every now and then.
