  • hey i was also thinking about stiffening the rear shock,,,,,

does anyone has any idea whether it will improve my cornering....
because the bike india issue probably of october, had a shootout of r15, rtr fi, P220 and Zma.

These guys had mentioned that the soft rear suspension of P220 creates a problem while cornering......

Any experts tip on this one

I think he meant even with the hardest setting on the P220, it is not rigid enough around the corners. I am getting significant bounce while going over slight bump at speeds over 80+. Shocks are in hardest setting. I wonder if gas charging will affect the stiffness.

      • @pranay: so what do you think,

if we compare the softest setting over hardest, which would be better for cornering

              hey mate
on the softer setting it wobbles like a ping-pong ball at 3 dig. speed

how do you adjust it to stiffer

You see your tool kit, there is a tool which is of J shape(at the top))(the one which you think is of no use)
Use that on the shockers(upper part of the shockers)

i've seen the tool(mentioned by our fellow mate above) n still can't figure out how it works

              • Well, well, well. Not a bright start to the new year for me .
Had office on 31st and I left my bike in the office parking lot on 31st eve and was ready to go home by 4.30am on 1st. Turned the ignition on and.....petrol started to fall from under the tank. I was in a frenzy since the bike was only 2 weeks old and i certainly hadn’t expected any serious mal-function. A couple of my friends came over and we found the leaking pipe where the fuel filter is. Couldn’t figure out what was wrong since there was no visible loose pipe. Had to leave the bike at office and went home in friend’s car. Called PBK in morning and by luck their head mech was already nearby for another bike. Called the mech directly and he found the problem in 2 mins. Said someone had done shararat with me. The fuel pipe was hidden very discretely under the rider seat area. Some lessons are learnt hard!! It's hard to think someone in office parking could do this, what can happen outside? Maybe someone just had got too high. Will be filing an official complaint.

By this time the low fuel indicator was glowing, went to pump and this got her filled up with Speed97 @850/- for just over 12.14L. Went to PBK service center to get the bike double checked and also to get my RC. Now this is where the comedy of errors starts. Apparently I had already collected my RC. Confusion ensued and found some other person who had bought a black P220 had taken mine by mistake. They called the owner and since he couldn’t come right now I decided to go and collect it. What’s more, the idiot had already got the number plate as per my RC .

As I was on my way home the gear shifter starting giving me problems. I simply couldn’t downshift. My first thoughts were ‘WTF, now this!!’. Stopped the bike and found the culprit. The bolt just below the shifter lever was loose and touching the lever, it was preventing the downshift but not problem with upshift. As it is, the bolt is in such a place that it cannot be tightened without the auto machine, had to tighten litlle bit by hand. Will get is fixed next week, have done 500km and thinking about getting the 1st serv. done.

                  • @Andy : Stiffer suspension helps a lot while cornering , try 3 diff settings (softest , mid , hardest)and you'll notice the difference
@rider_boney : use that j hook to "twist" the shocker to the "preset" notch/setting of you choice.you might have to pull up the rear to remove the load from the shockers for an effortless twist.

Soft setting is recommended for street use. Hard setting is for twisties or ghats.

                          • The front brakes are rubbing against the disc. Today while cleaning the bike, i put her on main stand and rotated both thew wheels. The front brakes are squeaking. And the front wheel is not moving freely as a result!

                            Plz help!
