  • Help me guys

hey guys, after giving the bike for 1st servicing, i am riding the bike above 4000 rpm and 40kmph.

but for every gear, if i go above 4500rpm, there is some strange sound coming from engine, like crank is not aligned properly,

is this problem faced by any other person ?

I have observed this in many other Pulsars...it seems to be normal...however, it disappears after you run in your engine...
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

          • @Ajinkya: How much did you pay for that KBC lid? And where did you get it from?

              • guys.. guess what? tanked up with Xtrapremium from my regular outlet, and instantly, there was a change in character of the bike! But still i think it will need another tankfull to get into its own self.. there was still 2-3 lts of old petrol in the tank.. so!

I am thinking of taking it for a thorough check-up cum service sometime next week.. it will b a paid one as i have not crossed 7k kms yet.. found few things to correct:

                Check CO and adjust
                Adjust fuel float
                Clean throttle body (?)
                Clean sparkies
                Change clutch cable
Check air & fuel filters for congestion
Balncer shaft & crank position sensor (for less smoothness at low rpms and vibrations)
Replace old de-clutch switch and starter solenoid & relay with new modified one
                Check clutch plates.

Long list.. but i hope this will ensure my baby is in perfect health! Please feel free to add anything i may have missed!
Glad that xBHP is back... and glad to be back on xBHP!!! :D

                    • i filled up with speed 97 yesterday and the character of the bike totally changed for the better does a higher octane rating really make that much of a differnce

Really..?? I tried once.. but didn't notice any difference whatsoever.
Maybe the old petrol needs to be drained out before noticing the difference..

Anyway, completed the 2'nd paid service (and 15,000 kms) yesterday..
The drive chain along with the sprockets were replaced... (thanks to my 0 % maintenance on the old chain drive).. the old chain had reached the end of its lifespan.

The Old Chain (notice the position of the axle)

                        New Chain Drive..

After the 2'nd paid service my bike is running the best it has done so far.. the Pick up is butter smooth, till 6000 RPM (83-84 Kmph) there is hardly any vibrations.. the bike is still running with the stock engine oil filled by the Probiking guys.

You have quite an amount of tread left even after having completed 15000kms!!

The Side threads are there.. but the central groove has vanished..

Will have to replace the tyre before the 2009 monsoons.. till then this should serve the purpose.
