@ vid_powerstroke

There is no way u can drain out all the oil from the engine. The reason being there would be little oil left in the oil cooler, its pipes and the oil pump. Even if u keep the bike to drain oil overnight it will still keep dripping. The best is rip the bike and drain when the engine is pretty hot so that the oil would be thinner and would drain out pretty easily. Next after a few mins tilt the bike and crank. Let it run for about 5 secs and turn off. Most of the oil would be out. Now pour in 1200-1250ml. If its an engine overhaul u gotta put 1300ml. But frankly speaking that hardly makes any difference. I have run for thousands of kms even with 1 litre of oil.

^^^ phat sound is related to fuel issue ,check the petrol might be issues with it also when was the last time u change the fuel filter ? Check/change that too.

Take your bike to the PBK, the diagnostic tool will tell you which sensor is triggering the bike to shutdown. I suspect its your Roll Over sensor that's gone for a toss, but get it confirmed via the diagnostic tool.

'Phatt' sound has a few reasons, bike is running lean or either of air/fuel filters a choked.

@Rahul: For the love of your bike's engine, do not crank the bike when it does not have any oil it even if its for just 5 secs. A few extra ml of old oil is not going to do any harm.
Btw, I checked with the PBK they say its 300ml for the fork oil.

@Vidya:Whilst draining the oil, ask them to open the oil cooler pipes and let oil drip from there too. Almost 100-150ml oil comes out of them. Then refilling would amount to almost 1.3L of oil. But ensure that they tighten the oil cooler bolts tightly, many times they have left it loose and I've had oil leaking all over from there.

My bike's front disc finally decided to give way, getting it changed now after nearly 50K kms of use. For the first time my bike's clutch plates have gone bust early, changing it now after just 8K kms of use. I guess all the high altitude ripping has taken a toll on it.

My bike's handling is gone a bit funny, getting the fork oil changed and cone set replaced. It was too abused in the Leh ride as it is. Even the tyres have started to show their age early this time, both tyres have run for under 10K kms and are in need to change. Leh was really hard on them too.....

PS: Good to get some free time after eons of office work.....

Here in HYD PBK the diagnostic tool is not working.
