Did approched them like a stranger
Asked them brother what's the problem ? They staired at me and slowly one guy said its his bike and asked me on how to take petrol out of this bike,
Replied back stating you use the normal way. He replied tiredly stating their is a lengthy metel pipe inside the petrol hose so even I can't cut and take it.

They showed me 250 ml of petrol in a bottle which was taken from another bike

Told them to move away and I try, they smiled at me as if I can't make it.

Now I showed them the bike key they gone speachless and said sorry brother.

Told them this is a diffrent bike you can't take it out using normal method,

Guys don't think people can't steel petrol from GS it is possible you just need to try bit hard
Hey Madhu, its really surprising that you could keep your calm in such a situation, i dont like it when people sit on my bike only, in such a situation i would have freaked out for sure.

But one thing i can say for sure, taking petrol from GS is pretty easy actually, just like any other bike, i've done it twice so far with my bike, while checking mileage with a can.

A thin layer of oil always remains between the main bearing and con-rod bearing which provides lubrication. When we park the bike for longer intervals (especially the side stand) and due to tension of the camshaft springs there may be situation where the thin oil is drained from the bearing.

This condition persists just at the moment of starting and thin oil film is regained in no time. But just at the starting moment some wearing occurs. A gentle push of kicker is all the required to regain this thin film of oil in the bearings. This will cause minimum wear.

I have read this information from this link. Interested can read and clarify. There is no problem in using ES all the time, but if your bike has been parked for longer intervals its better to use the kick lever just once to properly lubricate the necessary parts and then crank with ES.

Many must have noticed that there is a variable tension while kicking the lever, at some point it will go down really easy and sometimes it will need little more power. Once the kick lever reaches the end the second kick will be much more easier. But if we use ES it will apply the same force from the beginning and there are more chances for wear .
Hey, i agree with you that a soft kick would reduce the wear on the engine, but its not like the electric start puts a lot of stress suddenly on the engine either right ?

Anyway, the main reason people recommend kick start in the morning is so battery doesn't get drained, not to protect the engine. (as far as i recall)

I use ES in the mornings too, because with kick it takes 5 kicks atleast, but ES it starts in the first or second try itself.

Man that's a pitiable state !!!
This is what happens when the Fuel price is above 60 bucks a liter.

There was a report in the newspaper which said that the imported crude oil till the refined petrol is priced by the companies at 35 bucks a liter here in India, the rest is Government duties

From the above incident it seems that not only the man was old but was also not sure if he would steal.Because Petrol theives have little regard for the bikes.
Once at a parking I saw a Fiero Fx of a person standing in a pool of fuel, I raised an alarm fearing the hot weather or a fire incident.Everyone including the owner rushed at the site. The Owner was shocked, someone did open the fuel line to the carburetor, stole a litre or so of fuel but left the rest of the tank to pour itself out all over the bike and the place as he did not close either the fuel cock or the reconnect the fuel line to the carb. The Bike was walked to a nearby petrol pump, washed thoroughly ,refilled and then was ridden. The owner had suffered a big loss of 6 litres of fuel that day.But it could have been more scary than that.

The person who was trying to steal the petrol could have pulled out every cable out of the carburettor if he needed to do so really. But he had regards for the bike so he tried to reason instead of being desperate....Now what can we do in such a case ???

Neither did the old man threatened or run off, so that a public showdown could be arranged.

But what I believe is that prevention is always better than cure.So what we need to do that we get ourselves fuel cock locks if possible. No one knows who would be in danger when.

Smile kick start at early morning

The mail reason is as said by falcon its the battery.

It needs more power to start the bike on early morning

And that's the reason our friend ANIMIHER is using only kicker to start the bike as he needs battery power for his HID

I have read somewhere that the cost of petrol in Pakistan, our neighboring country is equal to 18 Indian rupees. Is it true? Any idea?

Thats shocking

And really no idea about it.

It would be possible only if Pakistan has its own oil-fields or has a fuel pipeline on contract from Gulf nations.

The First Successful Saddlesore on a Pulsar135LS(135cc) and Suzuki GS150R(150cc)

I,Ninad Ambre and Tanmay Patil completed 1600kms in 24hours successfully on the NH4,Mumbai-Bangalore-Mumbai Highway on the 17-18feb on a Pulsar135LS(135cc) and Suzuki GS150R (150cc) respectively.That’s a successful saddlesore1600k.

Tanmay is the only person to have thought of this and also making me do this.Yes brother we passed this test successfully. Thanks for the lovely friendship, company and support

First and foremost thank you Ashish and his brother Nikhil for all the help right from accommodation, food etc. to the help with the bike stuff, gears, everything. It was just wonderful to have all that elder brotherly and friendly support.

Thank you Ketan,Nitin and Tushar with all the help for the ride, route, information. It would have been tougher without your help.

Thank you Rustom,Mayur,Sachin,George Uncle and all xbhpians who helped us. The least I can do is thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It would'nt have been possible without your help and support.

Sorry Karan,Sachin and others for not asking you to join us or later even informing about the ride. The decision was kind of impromptu and we just went ahead with it and came back safe and successful.

Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone’s name here. I am as it is not good in writing logs, please forgive me for the same.

All the details of the ride would be provided in a log soon.(probably when I come back to normal)

Default service cost

hey guys,
I just left my bike for 2nd service and they charge me 400 bucks.
There was no major complaints. They only have to change the oil, which would cost max 210-250..What's remaining 150 for? I thought it was free service..

Hope all the problems of you bike – if there is any – will be solved this time.
SO if the color of the oil not darken after 350-400km means it's bad oil??...The oil name is MOBIL SUPER 4T 20w 40...I know MOBIL 1 Is for cars and imported from Abroad and expensive oil..I am not sure about this MOBIL super 4T ,As here in my town many of the GS owners using it ,recommended by LOCAL SC and they satisfied with it comparing to OUR SVC CASTROL OIL...
Earlier Me and some other guys in the forum(Madhu,ADI....)Many used GULF PRIDE 4T PLUS 20w 40 JASMO2 API ....And it was not darken the color even its complete 1500km..Its RED wine color ...Even while changing oil the SC Mech noted still Viscosity left after feeling it in Hand ....AS per the thread if U see Lot of guys Used GULF pride 4T and MOTUL 4T plus ...and conveyed both Had satisfactory result ...
Yes Vishnu ...When i got my bike returned the sound coming from my bike as per Main SC is TAPPET NOISE and told it was ADJUSTED TO 0.5MM...
AND the SC mech also done a 200ml Test and got 13.4km..But i am sitting on pillion The SC guy rode the bike in speed between 30-45 in 6th gear itself under some traffic ...But the way he drives makes me ...Bcos of risking me with lot of cuts thru the traffic ...Anyway i am safe ...

The main SC not agree that ,the fuel sensor(inside the tank) is able clean to avoid false reading in Fuel gauge And also told 2ml 2T oil per ltr of petrol is not recommended .....
Finally when i arrive my place i found i forgot to replace a Bolt Called "DRUM BOLT" which is causing some kind of noise while the bike hit path holes like "Tink ..Tink")...went to local SC today and he told that bolt out of stock...But u can replace similar bolt other than SUZUKI OEM ....Is it true for this DRUM BOLT..?????????
