nice review, sam9s, i was considering this bike before my FZ purchase but it was not available readily, so i postponed the idea. Post some info about 6th gear i mean is it really required. I never needed one on my pulsar, and i dont think needed one on FZ as of now. I feel pulsar and FZ almost same pickup but as FZ is run in period i cannot comment much, but yes its a wee bit faster than pulsar reaching 0-40km/hr.
The only thing that avoids GS from me is the commuterish look and same old handle bars, still if i get time i will give it a test ride.
Regarding the tick tick sound its ok, its a cooling down process, even my Pulsar used to make it and even FZ does.

No not the one u're talking... I mean in general... when a person is of say 80-90 kgs.. I don't knw if any1 like this has sat behind u..Originally posted by sam9s View Postwhich one, the one I am talking about at 3500RPM, if yes then no the vibrations does not increase with pillion, its a very small puff of vibration which stops immidiately when the speed increases, not more than 3600 or 3700rpm....so I though to discuess it here....
But when some heavy man sits behind me on Dio, i kinda feel the engine more harsh, vibes increase.. i know I can't compare a scooter with bike.. but I just want to know- does the same thing happen on bike ?
Ankur knows abt it ? I mean any1 can answer... Its not just abt GS, but any bike (here 150cc).. I guess it has to do someting with weight of vehicle and/or distribution of weight..?6 Speed Cruising >>--->>--->> Flying In Heaven

Oh Ok......No GSR is absolutely safe in that department......the olny thing that differes when an 80Kg person sits as a pillon is the bikes pull which is obvious and common.......no increase in vibrations......to put it in plain words.......there is absolutely no change in bikes ride comfort, smoothness if a heavy pillon rider is sitting.Originally posted by vrooommm... Well have been using 6th at only speed 60 for now, if you want my personal view i can only give that after my 1st service (10 more days).......rest by the reviews online what I think is that 6th gear is not for speed but mostly act as a overdrive, you gain 5-10Kmph but get engine soothness, and maintain the milage as well.Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Postnice review, sam9s, i was considering this bike before my FZ purchase but it was not available readily, so i postponed the idea. @Vrooommm
There's no change in the engine noise or vibration with a heavy pillon rider.
And as far as Dio is concerned yes the engine vibrations become more prominent because there we're talking 100cc (I've used a Honda Activa too and felt that personally)
But this is nothing of an issue with the GS150R.
You don't have to compromise your comfort with a rider behind you. Engine's as smooth without the rider as is with.

@Sam
Yeah I've found most of the part similar to what you've said on the Forum. But I am not experiencing those vibrations in the 3500 RPM segment (thankfully).
Also, I didn't get the whole point of this POWER and ECONOMY mode setting.
Is it only to make the gear upshift light glow above 5000 and 8000 RPM respectively or is it cutting off some engine power in the Economy mode???
I've not driven this harshly even once so it has been hard to determine the difference between these two modes.
Please enlighten me.
And I loved the clock. Saves the time and attention required to look upon your wrist.

Yes, thisI knew ... but if you see ~61K for GS absolutely w.o. city constraints then it is a steal while we are getting just stunner in 60k. That is becasue of taxes here but still we can compare that prices of 125CC at one place is almost equal to price of a really good 150CC bike. That's all I wasnted to highlight.

mmm Good that you dont have that rough spot at 3500, but if HydBiker is right it must be at some other rpm....anyway its not even a vibration I would call......its just like a small resonance that happenes at that particular rpm......may be I am a making a too much hue and cry of this, lets wait for bikes first service.Originally posted by ankurbhageria2006 View Post@Sam

ECO PWR mode are not just indications I presume as even Hydbiker said it also has something to do with fuel mapping as well.......
Even I am waiting for 1st service so that I can clearly make out the difference if any......
PS :: The on road price of the bike in Ghz (U.P) is 62700. And BTW 60000 for stunner is a total retard price I must say.....Last edited by sam9s; 03-06-2009, 03:41 AM.
