Guru,
I have made no alternations or modifications like removing the pilot lamps or anything else as it fruitless. Just replaced the bulb. You can do the same, if you are satisfied with its intensity.
The modifications required are the replacement of rr unit and the rewinding of magneto coil. I am hesitating due to some reasons. First of all the bike is new and I don’t like to make any modifications unless I am sure about its result. Secondly, the connections from the rr unit of Ape is different. Thirdly, it is difficult to get a trustable electrician to rewind the coil.
I hope I can do the winding myself. But modification of the connections from the rr unit is a real problem as it has only one output which is connected to the battery. I shall explain it later.
Now replace the bulb and that is enough. All the goodness.

This seems to be strange. Look for it in any car accessary shop, especially in small shops and if not available, buy online.

Also since when you started getting this whooping figure of mileage. It is said that one should not expect good mileage from bike before 2nd service. I hope to get the answer soon. Cheers!
Dear friend,
I have a 250 kms ride today, starting at 6 in the morning, along which the bike will reach the reserve level. I shall give an answer after finding out the exact mileage. Please wait.

Default Engine Oil

Is there a way or method to know that the Service centre had changed the engine oil???

The mechanic, used to take out that level from engine and take a drop on thumbnail and don't know what they test... Doubt came from that moment.

I used wd40 at some other points (frame and swing arm mainly) where there were some brown spots, but didn't spray into the tank coz i thought it would drip into the petrol, didn't know if it could cause a bad reaction so didnt try it.

btw, a friend suggested that i use something called 3M petrol additive, he said it'll improve fuel quality and make the engine smoother and increase mileage. its like a 25ml bottle to be mixed with around 5lt of fuel.

Any idea about this ??( since its 3M its probably not some hoax, 3M wouldnt want to lose their brand name. )

I dont know what your mechanic is doing, i didnt understand what you meant by "take out that level from engine" either.

But if you want to check, there's a glass window at the side, new oil will be golden coloured or red depending on the brand, oil thats over 500km old will be black or blackish. so its pretty easy to figure out if they're cheating you.

Your question needs a psychological answer as it clearly indicates you are not comfortable with the oil in your bike.

So whatever it is please change it to your favourite oil with the favourite way where you feel happy with

thefalcon,
WD40 is a mixture of fish oil and kerosene together with some other chemicals and its usage in the tank is not preferable because it mixes with petrol.
You can use 3M petrol addictive but I am doubtful about its ability to prevent rusting of the tank because the rusting part is not in contact with petrol.
Burdahl, Iftex, Thermol etc are some of the other additives claiming the same quality of 3M. And this kind of additives is added in branded petrol like Xtra premium, Speed, Power etc.
