So, now Im on the lookout for a better crashguard. Anyone using a different one? Any suggestions?

++ I think I skidded on some water but Im not really sure what happened. Once I got up and picked up my bike, I looked around to see how it could have happened and saw a very small stream of water flowing down the road, but saw nothing else that I could connect the dots to, like sand or oil. Ive ridden on worse patches of water and not skidded. My tires are good. I was neither accelerating, nor braking hard. I wasnt downshifting either. I was doing a constant speed in 6th gear. Its a real mystery how this happened.

Anyone else experienced something like this or similar to this?

And coincidentally, I had my first accident on this bike at nearly the same time last year. Hows that for a "shakuna" ?

I hope most of wil be covered in insurance,so avail it max.do not now much about the prices(handle bar is 250).

i too agree with you regarding the crashgaurd,a better/bigger one gives more protection.

May be some atma want to take avenge is waiting there

I've been reading this forum regularly when I thought to buy a new bike..

its gud to hear that u r safe... ur story and the way it occured reminded my 1st and only fall on my GS... was on my way to lonavala(nr Khopoli to be precise) and the first monsoon rain started, it wasnt very heavy, but since i was at the begining of the ghat.... streams started flowing down on the roads (that was my first experience in wet condition with my GS) was riding @ 35-40Kph... n then suddenly the front end lost its grip, was baffled with this strange behaviour (which i have never felt till date again) but managed to keep the bike on the road.. while i was thinking what happened.... the next second i lost the front end completely and was skidding on the road for a good 4-5secs bollywood style, all the while i was thinking how much scratches would my bike endure, i just had a brusie on my left leg, thanks to the handle weights, Crash Gaurd and the saree guard i n my bike were saved... on inspecting the bike after getting up on my feet noticed scratches on the cowling n the protruding part of our pilot lamp glass (which is still there till date but visible on close inspection only) the handle bar was bent and the fork pin was bent (i guess all of the bike weight was resting on the handle bars while skidding)
came back to mumbai n gave it to SVC handle could be straightened and front fork could be centered in a lathe (this was given outside SVC as labour job) since a new fork pin was 2750/-
total cost i incurred was of 750 only (labour Charges for centering) and an additional 300/- was given to the SC mech who looks after my bike

The point of the whole narration is... i have driven my GS in worse or rather i would put it in Torrential rains in Mumbai (mumbaikars must be knowing how the rains were this monsoon) n never ever i have felt loosing grip on both ends even during heavy braking at times.... but this specific incident when i had my fall it really baffled me, i even checked the road after i got up to see if any oil was there or did my GS aquaplaned on a stream of flowing water, but i couldn't conclude anything....

hey guys my gs150r has done 5500 kms and now i am facing this problem where after riding it for 10-14 kms its rpm automatically gets up the idle rpm is 1.2 k but it reaches upto 2k after the engine heats up. i have shown this to SVC guys and there answer is not satisfactory at all they told me its usual with all the gs. and when the engine heats up rpm gets higher. pls tell me the solution to this problem and also my bike is giving around 42 kmpl avg what can be done about it?

even i faced same problem along with many other faults in my bike. if SVC is not looking into problem, contact Suzuki India on their website.

The oil, grease etc left over the road during summer rises to the surface of the road during the first rain and makes it slippery. This was the cause of that accident.

This rising of RPM when the engine becomes hot is common in every 4 stroke bikes. The idling RPM of our bike when the engine is cold is 900-1000 and when warm is 1300-1500. Adjust it yourself to a maximum of 1400 or 1500 after riding 2 or 3 kms. This will solve the problem.

How did you check the fuel efficiency?

nthng more and wat is that "fork pin bent" r u talking about the front fork shud i go and ask svc whether is there any prob with my bikes fork and previously when i asked the mech he was saying that the race bearing kit should be opened and the ball bearings shud be replaced....

i dont know the exact technical name of that part, the SVC mech called it "kaichi" (scissors in english) u might be able to identify it, its the assembly which connects both the front forks and a perpendicular part which goes inside the front of the chassis steering ( where race bearing kit is installed) tube of the bike frame... in my case it was bent a little, they gave it for centering to a lathe workshop.... before centering the bike was pulling to the left if driven in straight line...
