Tip of the Day

Hot days – molten Tar = slip/slide

Hot days create more than one problem. Tarmac roads with a greater than normal proportion of tar mixed in their making is one. The extra targets soft and gooey. Brake hard on it or take a fast turn and the bike can slide as easily on it as on spilt oil. So watch it.

Thumbs down No help from SVC

I need an urgent help from your exp. I got my new GS150R last week. When I took delivery, the dealer gave me the bike with 0.5 LTR of petrol. I immediately filled it with 10 LTR. The fuel indicator was showing 3 blocks. Now I have done 370KMS on ODO and still running on main (the fuel knob). But today evening while coming back from office I can see the last block blinking , inspite of me still riding in main. As per the manual, the last block is supposed to blink only when the fuel hits below 1.5L. and reserve capacity is ~3L. Why this conflict?

What should I do now? Refill next day or take the bike to SVC? Please help me
Took my bike to SVC yesterday (JAV Suzuki, Adyar, Chennai). Told them about the fuel indicator & knob issue. To my dismal they told me that the reserve capacity is 2 LTR and also the fuel indicator starts to blink on nearing the same 2 LTR . I told them about the manual, but again those morons started arguing with me. I think I need to figure out myself the whole mess now

    Default Moderators help required

MODERATORS I NEED YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE ::

I'd already PM'ed the thread starter sam9s and moderator MG regarding this and didnt recieved any response... Forum Moderators knindly help me..

I had created DIY procedures with detailed pics for DC conversion in GS150R with helps from our XBHP members.,

I received some request from GS members to post it in DIY thread., But in my opinion if it is present within the GS150R thread it'll be very useful and new GS users could easily spot it from the thread itself...

I request you to kindly post these links in the 1st page of this thread..

    Thanks & Regards,
    Magesh

That mechanics are partially correct as the fuel level varies while you ride the bike. It is easy to check it. Drain the fuel tank with a piece of hose and see when the indicator starts to blink. If the fuel left while it starts to flicker is more than about 1.5 litre, it needs replacement.
Disappearing of the last block in the fuel meter frequently while nearing the emptiness of fuel is common in our bike. I still think the problem in your bike is due to this.
Please check it before sending complaint to Suzuki.

    Magesh,

I am personally against posting it in the DIY thread due to the present condition of some DC conversion threads. Some are posting weird ideas like adding some kind of diodes to the already DC converted power supplies and so on.

So please avoid posting it in the DIY thread or anywhere else to prevent such idiotic comments.

But the effort is yours and you decide what to do.

    Punarvasu,
I wanted to post it in this thread itself and I too personally against in posting in some other threads., Sorry friends..
Since this DC conversion is particularly for our GS, having it here will have lot of meanings...
So that it'll be easier for our members to get their ideas/problems/queries get solved quickly...

    This is what I feel,,

Now I need to get the attention from moderators for the next step... Any help please..

The moderators take about a month or two to reply to requests. I waited for a month to get the owners link added to the 1st post. Please wait for some time and see.

Thanks Bro. Before placing a complaint, let me ask my local mechanic to check the fuel capacity in reserve. For me I want to make sure the fuel knob works perfect with a consistent reserve capacity, even if its just 2 LTR.

    Default Completed 500 on ODO

    Folks,

This weekend I have completed 500 on my GS. A few observations:

    1. The engine is smooth and sounds perfect.
    2. Gear shift is not accurate once the engine is heated up to full. Hope this will be sorted out after the run-in period and a couple of service.
    3. Rear brake seems to be not the best in class. As observed earlier in my post, a disc would have done the trick.
    4. Shocks are good and my back feels good.
    5. I have an issue with my digital fuel indicator and fuel knob. They don't sync and are not per user manual. Reported to SVC, as usual no help

    A BIG ISSUE:
There seems to be a problem in my bike chassis (not sure thou ). After driving for few KMs, I feel a pain in my right shoulder and in my wrist. I tried driving the bike without my hands on the handle bar and could feel the bike skews towards right side and I have to adjust my body weight to bring back the vehicle to stability. I reported the problem to SVC. The SE took the bike for a drive and also agreed about the problem. He adjusted the fork set. Even after that I have the same problem

I searched this thread and found this:
    Suzuki GS150R

But I don't see any resolution to the issue.

What could be the reason for this?
    1. A fork bend?
    2. Tyre mis-alignment?
    3. Chassis issue?

    Please advice
