The petrol that we get here also contains droplets of water which gradually accumulates at the bottom of the tank since water is denser than petrol and sinks in it , and stays there fill after fill of petrol . This water drops accumulated at the bottom under the petrol also contains dissolved air in it , just like any other natural water . Water drops+air rusts at the tank bottom with time . This is why most of the rusting occurs at the tank bottom, not the sides . So keeping the tank full does not usually help . This is what I have found from draining the fuel tanks every couple of years on my bikes . Longevity of the tank depends on the material and manufacturing quality , i.e it's ability to withstand the inevitable presence of some water inside .
Very good condition of the chain+sprockets for the miles . You just keep applying fresh grease on top of the old one on it , no ? No oil even ? I may try this![]()
