2). Apache vibrates at higher speeds..
3). FZ gives u back ache..
these kinda probs i wanted to kno abt GS...
There are no such problems at all. I don't own yet, but according to owners and my test ride and reviews, gear shift is smooth best & better... engine is butter smooth even at high speeds. don't even think of back ache or such.. its a royal comfort!

yes the colorwise cbz looks good.. but see if u can manage with ugly indicators -my thought they are ugly.
EVen I liked the black GS150R but I saw gray closely and it shines so hot in bright light.. So gray, its metallic gray! it looks very good too.. anyways color is ur choice..

I'm planning to take my orange baby for a long drive. We're going to Basara (Goddess Saraswathi's temple) tomorrow morning. It is 220 odd kms from Hyderabad. Have completed 680 kms till now. It'll be 1150 when I return back. Since the 1st service interval is 750-1000 kms, I called my dealer and they said that it'd be ok for 100 or 200 kms more.
Aur @sam bhai, it surely does feel very smooth at 80 kmph. Even at that speeds engine doesn't feel stressed.
And one more interesting thing... I got 60 kmpl (in city conditions) two days back.
By the time I am writing this you already must have started for the long drive, but I am surprised that you are opting for a long drive before 1st service, you wont be able to push the bike beyond 70 (unless you delibrately do so) and at 70 on highway this bike is lilke a cart........maazaa hi nahi aayega.......should have planned after the first service atleast you could have pushed the bike to that 85 sweet spot......

the last 200 Km I drove I made it a fuel spree for this bike I mean accelerating suddenly, a couple of head to head combact on red lights, zip zapping through traffic and things like that................. you know letting the bike have all the fuel flow it needs.......
So with these conditions I still managed to get an avg of 52-54.....and I am very satisfied. Afer 1000Km I think we can conclude that the bike gives 55 easily under normal city conditions........
I still have to test on Highways.......

@Mariod even I am very very particular about the brakes........ and to be frank I did feel the brakes for the new bike were not up to the mark with the demo bike I drove (maybe it was in my case only).......but not like exceeding any danger limit, its just that I wanted it to be spot on......for which the service man told me to wait till first service....which I did and breaks were then tuned to perfection.....I tested it after the first service and it was spot on per my requirments...........

front disks are as good as any other Bike in the 150cc league....

Coming to Xtreme, it also has a very smooth engine, one of my friends owns one. Decent mileage&comfort too. Overall similar power. However, I found GS a better package in terms of features&appeal. Moreover GS is new in the market. I would say go for it eyes closed!
@alkemyst ....sarvajit is dead on spot correct in his statement.......GS is utter mindblowing smooth at 85-90 you dont get a milage of 55 driving at that speed......plus technically all equiped ....all these features makes this bike pure winner AFA commuters are concerned.........

@sam: so when u will test it at highest speed. don't get disappointed if it vibrates a bit over 100. i think every rival of GSR will vibrate little bit in the range of 105-110 kmph.
@alkemyst: dude.. go with GS150R.. it suits ur every requirement !
As I said I drove at 100 for couple of second once just to have a feel and.......believe no difference in engine smoothness or vibrations it was as smooth as it was on 80-85.........will cross 100 after I have my second service......

so GS owners, pls help..
ok here r few spot negetives I noticed.......I am not sure what priority would people here would give to these but yes since we r all going gaga over GS positives its good that we share few clean negetives as well...

1. Not a one kick start ::: This is the most anoying factor if you ask me, I have to talk to the service man on the second service about this.......I am not sure if this is permanent issue, but I am not happy with it.........bike takes atleast 4,5 kicks to start when the engine gets cold.....once it is up and running then its ok......but leave the bike for 5,6 hours and u need 4,5 kicks again to get it hummerring. My Ambition was gem in this...... even after 5 years of vigrious running believe me I never used a third kick, infact 90% of times it was a one kick start and only 10% i had to kick the 2nd one on Ambition.........with GS its alwasy 4,5 kicks...........and I am definately gonna talk to service man on this during second service....

2. Gear shift at sudden deaccleration::::: Gear Shift is butter smooth OK but not when you suddenly deaccelerate from 90 at 6 gear to 20 in seconds and quickly try to shift up at 20......thats when I felt neutral lock ups almost every time I did that....though its not that a big deal but I guess I can bring this in the negetive as pect.............rest in generall no issues and gear box is pretty smooth.

3. 0-60 not THAT impressive :::::: After couple of head to head combacts at red light. RTR FI way ahead/pusar 180 better and UNI almost same. rest all behind

ok dude... I said it bcos bike India had it in their review. its above 100, not at 100. you take ur time till 2nd service and then u can verify if its really like as they've said.. I hope bike india is wrong!!

hey btw, why u said that 70 pe maza nahi ayega?

its weird tht it takes 4-5 kicks to start.. and wat abt the neutral lock? does it happen only in the above mentioned conditions or most of the times?

Bike India says the bike vibrates over 100, pass me the link of that page ok.......also bro to start feeling vibtrations at say 105, I shoudl atleast feel "SOME" some amount of vibs begining at 100........no exaggerating coz it my bike but believe me when it comes to ride comfort and utter smoothness GSR is the holy KING of all bike every produced. I will say again " there is vitrually no difference in the level of vibrations from 80 to 100-101 not even a hint and I thnk logically suddenly bike would not produce vibs at 105....yes may be when we cross 110 we might ...thats still to see..........but how many times you drive a bike at 110+ man......even on long trip I think 100-105 would be more than sufficient....

and 70 pe maza ka matlab not in any comfort level........this bike thrives for speed at 70 I mean you would feel as if drivig a slow cart at 70,,,,,,,..90+ is when you feel and say to yourself """" Fu*&k man this bike cruzes simply butter cruzes at this speed......""""

yes even I am not happy with that number of kicks....anyway I will see if the servic person does some tuning to rectify this.

and neutral locks hapenes only when you suddenly deacclerate from 60+ to say 20 and then try to quickly shift up.........hell its not most of the time else it would ruin the entire bike experience plus how is then the Gear Box called butter smooth....lol

hmmmm.. then neutral locking isnt a prob.. it happens wit all the bikes(atleast wit all i rode)
going tomor for a test ride of GS.. last tim it gave me good feelin but the test ride was jus for a minute.. cant check a bik properly in tht less time..
gotta check extreme too(never even touched it yet)..
the only mental inhibition i m findin against GS is tht i cant c many suzuki bikes on indian roads.. last tim fiero came n few guys bought it, for change/suzuki name.. it was a good bik too but dint mak much of a stir in market.. even here, on xbhp i m findin atmax 4-5 GS owners(however evry1 is gaga abt it)
anywys, tomor is the decision day.. lets c

went yday to hav a proper test ride this tim.. after a few minutes of convincing the salesman finally got the bike for more than 10 mins, tht too alone .. felt gr8.. looks like u cant expect more from a 150cc bike.. dint feel heavy at all at U turns.. n stats say its heavier than uni..
booked a black one.. ll get it tomor eve..
thnx guys for all your inputs and brainwashing me to go for GS...

@sam - i askd the service center guy abt your kick start problem and he said its a new bike, so a lot of pple dont know how much pressure to apply for a kick.. so next tim u put proper pressure on the kick.. ok??? i wanted to laugh at his face only but then thought better to jus nod n leave..

Hey dude... I was mistaken They didn't say about speed. I don't have the link I read it in magazine. Here is the quote-
Quote:
Though GS150R's engine felt smooth initially, spending time with Unicorn made me realize that Honda was still the smoothest package of the lot. The GS150R further disappointed me when I could distinctively hear the sound of valve clutter and a slight knocking from the engine. These sounds get amplified in higher revs and vibes kick in after the 7,000 rmp mark. However they are lesser than one would experience on a similar capacity Pulsar.
I won't believe this, unless some owner proves it, not any (biased) review.. I didn't experience this on my test ride.

Yes Shadowfox, don't believe it...
I am on owner of 3rd gen uni for the past 2 years and i was really impressed with the ride of gs150R. Its butter smooth.. i even crossed 8000 RPM in 3rd gear to test engine vibs, but it was nil, believe it it was nil. It was giving "sound" much lesser than my uni.
driven it till 6th gear (reaches 57-60kmph @4000 rpm), no Knocks could be felt @30kmph in 6th gear.
Really impressed...
