Keep it below 4.5K RPM&use all the gears.
Go out of boundary once in a while in various gears, that also helps.

Which gear? If its in topgear, you would be doing approximately about 65kmph.
60kmph comes up at exacty 4K RPM in 6th.

are you talking about R15 or GS 150??
AFAIK the R15 does 60 @ 4k, does the GS150 do same speed at 4k??

I am also wondering the same, since Saravjit owns a R15 and not GS150R.

As in my case i have clocked 1400km and engine is lot more smoother than it used to be. But with a pillion the bike feels dead slow. I noticed some problems, anyone please comment on this

1. Engine revving is not free after 4000 rpm. Very noisy after this mark. 5th and 6th are ok. But lower two is just use less. Im very disappointed

2. Rear brake dont have a bite. Usually at medium speeds i use both brakes proportionately. At low speeds using both of them is uncomfortable for pillion and when i tried to use only rear brake it has much larger stopping distance.

3. Fluctuating mileages: After first service the mileage figures have gone down to 45-50 range with a pillion and driving around 60.

4. Front tire tends loose traction at around 80. Had to lean forward to keep it grounded. I really felt like the front tire has gone airborne. Now im wondering how some guys reported 113 kmph???
Hey,
I got my rear brake spring changed at the free service camp, the rear brakes are awesome now.
And i hadnt even complained about the rear brakes
You could try asking them if yours has the older spring and change it. it costs 5 or 6 bucks even if they charge you.

And about the front tire, may be you should show it to them. There was another guy at the camp saying the front wheel isnt stable etc etc.
Didnt stick around to see what they said though.

About the mileage and revving prob, i dont have much to say.
I'm getting 53 and it revs pretty well for me(i keep it around 5 usually)

Do not ride at high speeds on those kind of roads.

Take your bike to a pretty good road (NH) and test it out at the same speed, if you still have the same problem, test this with any other bike. Maybe its just you or something is definitely wrong with your bike.

I say this because, when I went to book the bike, a person had come there to give the bike for servicing and he was saying that he had riden upto 95 and the bike was very very stable.

Wats with you and 100cc bikes, mate?
Wait till 3K mark on your Odo and then rip your bike and you will leave the 100cc bikes behind, till then just forget about the people around and take care of your bike during run in.
Thanks for your reply mate.

Majority of time I ride with a pillion and when i try revving engine the sound changes and its a little noisy. From the replies of other GSpians, will wait till 3K on ODO .

Well there is no particular reasons for my hatred towards 100cc bikes, i just think them as annoying. Always riding zig-zag, causing lot of trouble .
