Hi falcon,
I was also at the service camp yesterday. I had the following discussions with the Suzuki employee ( one indian and 1 japanese) 1. squeaking sound from front disk - the indian engineer showed it to the jap one who took some notes. When they returned the bike, i checked it and there was no sound. 2. high heel shifter - checked this with only local mechanic( i mean the one at the dealer). He initially tried to bypass the issue saying "150CC bike's gear lever cann't be compared to 125CC" when i pointed him to the Zeus's gear lever. After arguing for 5 minutes, he checked something with the Suzuki engineer, brought some tools and reduced the height. 3. I have asked for lowering the handle bar - local mechanic said that it may affect the lock-to-lock position by obstructing with that big tank) and also it requires length reduction of all the cables connected to the steering column. Though I was not convinced, i let it go. 4. rear brake - I have already changed the brake spring in an earlier service which did improve the brake bite at that time. This time they have tightened the drum, as they do everytime, whose effect may not last more than a week. At the end, no acceptable solution. 5. rectifier/regulator xxxxAA to xxxxBA - the local mechanic said there is nothing to worry as that number is a serial number provided by the vendor of that particula part. I dont know how much it is true. Forgot to check this with the Suzuki guys 6. My gear indication and neutral LED stopped working - turned out to be a rat eating away some cables. This is instantly guessed by that local mechanic. After some discussions, they suggested replacing those set of cables at a cost of 1050/-. I paid for it. 7. Tank rust concern - the indian Suzuki guy checked my tank and said it is not affected. He said that the issue was reported in coastal areas and the company replaced the tank for those affected customers. 8. Left side handle lock - the suggestion was leave it as it is. I didn't push as it's a minor one. But i do inform anybody who drives my bike, very very rare, that be careful while left side locking I had some generic discussions with the Japanese engineer. Me: Front wheel doesn't feel planted at speeds > 70. Gets aggravated if there is a pillion Jap: has spoken to some 70-80 customers and nobody has made similar comment. Me: insisted with my question asking about the front:rear weight ratio Jap: how does it compare to Unicorn and Pulsar? Me: Not driven Uni.Pointed him to the type of tyres used on GS150 and compared them to the Pulsar which uses some other variant of MRF Nylogrip Zapper. Also Pulsar is much shorter and lighter so it is not that insecure. Jap took pen+paper, noted down something)Me: is fuel mapping different in eco/power modes? Jap: No, it's just a notification to the rider Me: why there are 2 cables connected to throttle? Jap: dont know exactly but it is done in similar fashion in bigger bikes. ( I was thinking ...OK). Even if 1 cable snaps, the other one works providing safety. ( I was thinking.. this Jap guy is taking me for granted) Me: How is the speed measured when no cable is connected to the either wheel? Jap: it is measured from the engine part Me: you mean engine RPM? it might be incorrect as it is always possible to rev the engine in lower gears like 1,2,3? Jap: doesn't depend on RPM but the speed of drive train. Me: (Don't know a thing about drive train and hence let it go) Thanks. On the whole, I was impressed with the way the indian Suzuki guy was answering various questions from bikers. He was even taking each and every bike on the busy old airport road with the customer as pillion and verifying their complaints. He was as energetic at 3PM as he was at 9:30AM. Good job. @ ysreenu:
You seem to have spoken quite a bit with the suzuki people during the camp. ![]() I just gave my bike, came home and went to collect it. But i did meet Mr Vinod Natarajan. He was very friendly, asking about the performance etc etc. even made me fill a feedback form. How many Japanese people were there at airport road ?? When i went only one person was there and i dont think he was an ordinary engineer. may be some higher up marketing guy.(which means he wont know the technical specifications of the bike) Even i had complained about disc, i think they increased the spacing between the pads or something, no sound but the brakes have lost its bite now.

Yes, Mr Vinod was the indian Suzuki guy Iwas referring to in my previous post. He told his name but I cudn't hear properly then. I dont think the jap guy was there for marketing purpose. Vinod was interacting with him on the technical aspects so I beleive he knows something about the bike. OR may be he was just taking some notes to give an impression that they are listening to the customers. We will never know :-) Even I felt that the disc was lost it's bite a bit but it needs to be checked over a period of 1 or 2 days. Will let u know. Regards, Sreenivasulu Y |

Hi Friends, Just today i have completed 500 on ODO n decide to post about my GS.
The Bike is really awesome. one can enjoy the pleasure of its drive. As its caption says "Drive me Crazy" is really true. Until now i haven't crossed 5K rpm. In the lower gear the bike has quite vibration and noise but at higher gear the bike is smooth. Majority time i was driving only in city traffic so the engine RPM will be between 3 - 4K RPM. so i used to feel the some vibration. I don't know whether it will go off after some times or else it will remain like this. Even though the bike is quite heavy the engine easily pushes the vehicle without much effort, i should appreciate the suzuki people for this. Even in the heavy traffic i didn't find the difficult to drive this machine. So the bike has decent pick up. At signal immediately i cant overtake every one but after few sec i can easily over take people around me. so i think the acceleration is low but it has top speed (i don't know my understanding is correct or not). Mileage is better then compared to all other 150CC bike segment. For me it is giving approx of 50KMPL. may be this is less but i am satisfied for this. if it delivers the same or more after first service means definitely i will be happy. One small problem i found is Front head module vibrates little while traveling in an uneven roads may be i should fix this up during my first service. Then even i used to listen some squeaking sound from back may be it is from suspension or not, i don't know exactly, need to check it. Head light is good, Horn is best for this traffic. Digital console, i like it most. Good comfort for driving(but sometimes feels shoulder pain), i don't know about pillion because i never sit behind in this vehicle. Breaks are good but less confident while applying on the grainy corners. Lot of pro n cons are there but thing is no man are perfect so how would you expect even for machines. so instead of blaming for each small small thing I just used to enjoy the ride. Even today morning i was coming in 6th gear at 60 speed i just felt like flying on air (this enjoyment makes me to forget all the minor problem in the bike). Definitely no one will regret GS after purchasing it(Even though i am big fan of ZMR n R15). This bike is for one who likes comfort, decent pick up, good mileage and so n so.. |

. About the squeaking sound from rear suspension check whether its coming from the suspension or the centre swing arm. Mine had some squeaking sound which was said to be coming from swing arm as per S.C guys. They lubricated it while first service, but after a week it seemed to have come up again . I didnt notice the sound as i wear helmet when i ride. Only yesterday did i sat as pillion and found thats on uneven surfaces its making lots of sound, its really annoying at slow speeds . Anyone knows solution? I have called S.C and plans to give bike to them tomorrow.

![]() Some GS owners were contemplating putting some cloth/tape in the gap to reduce vibrations. ![]() Squeaking sound comes if the lubrication is not adequate, it will be more if riding with a pillion. Ask the SC guys to properly lubricate it. If you riding more in dusty roads, then the issue may come up within a month or two. For lubricating you can visit your local mechanic and no need to visit the SC. |

Hi guys..
Just registered at xbhp a couple of days ago, but i've been following this thread for quite some time.. I bought my GSR a couple of days ago from Advaith Suzuki, Basavanagudi. Here's a breakup of the charges: Cost of bike : 68308/- Smart Card : 250/- No. Plate : 113/- RTO : 130/- Affidavit (Company letter for address proof) : 250/- Total : 69051/- Will be getting 1000/- off for lump sum payment. Didn't get any further discount since it's a 2010 model. Dealer said free accessories/discounts are available only for 2009 models. ![]() Initially, i was a bit confused about the colour.. but boy, am i glad i chose blue! The photos do not do it justice.. it looks spectacular, especially at night.. Ride quality's top notch.. (i haven't ridden the unicorn yet, so i cant compare yet..) Gears are a bit hard right now, but going by several user experiences here, i'm expecting it to get better after a few kms.. Thanks a lot to everybody here for their valuable posts.. ![]() |

handed in my bike for the 4th free service today. complained abt the rust in tank. Service advisor inspected it and immediately agreed to replace the tank. He even mentioned it in the job card "replace tank", but not sure when it would be replaced ... straight away or some time later.
