About the tail light looking diminished could be because that is not the brake light.....which is much brighter, I just switced the regular lights and took the snap...... ================================================== ==== Now continueing with the first regular review of my bike's first ride......... All points that I mentioned in the first review with the demo bike holds true with the new one as well, but there are points I still fear........ like the engine sound was bit more and different from the demo bike and pick up was also not up to that mark.......it is very much possible that the bike is brand new and engine is not attuned I felt these points.......anyway lets discuess few NEGITIVE point as well to be fair coz its all plus points we all have been discuessing till now Traffice Handling :: I have to say not the best in its class, FZ was better so was CBZX. Apachi I can not vouch as I did not drive across heavy traffic. The reason I can see is the bike weight 149 Kg heaviest I guess and handle turn angel which is less than CBZX. So zipping though traffic was not as good as FZ. Now when I say not good does not in any way mean I had some kind of trouble while maneuvering the bike...... no its not that bad its absolutey acceptable and in general you would not face any problem but when it come to stright comparision.......FZ/CBZX were better. Rear Suspension :: BEST just one plain simple word BEST rear suspension on road currently.....better than CBZX, UNI and far better than Apachie. FZ I cant remember... sorry but GSR rear suspension is class apart....pot holes were a pleasere to drive. specially for the pillon rider....Front suspension ::.......better than Apachie for sure.... rest I think I did not find any noticable difference between front suspension in CBZX and unicorn. I think CBZ was a wee bit better. Vibrations :: Well as I already had put it GSR has the best technology when it come to eliminating vibrations and I can vouch for that....however the real difference where GSR wins is at high speeds......that is where noticible difference lies...... less that 60 (which is what i am driving my GSR currently) all the bikes EXCEPT APCHIE performed the same....with FZ on the second last position......apachie has easy noticiable vibrations..........But One thing I would like to bring in notice......and I would like to have people on xBhp take on this..........on excatly 3500rpm I can feel GSR giving slight noticable vibration which I think was not in the demo bike.....now this has put me in to some fear.....I really hope that its just because of the engine not yet very attuned and after the first service it should be ok , what do experts have to say about this..... Apart from this the over all drive of GSR is butter smooth, at high speeds even butter smooth might be an understatemtnt. Finally the console :: Georgous...you will fall in love with this bike's console......one negitive aspect (since we are discuessing negitive part) is the shift mode indicator which gives you an indication of the best time to shift the gear.......its a very neat feature, but the problem is after reaching 60 the mode indicator keeps blinking constantly unless you bring the speed down to <60, this really creates irritation while driving at night as the constant blinking at the console disturbs you........ Right now I am driving at 60 anyhow so I am still ok as most of the time the bike is <60 but you can not simply drive at night >60 with this constantly blinking indicator at the console....... you will switch to power mode and that would comepletely defete the very purpose of given the eco mode if you do not want to dash or race but still want to drive at atleast 75..... Well thats my first day experience in to the negitive points I felt the bike had.......apart from this all the postive aspects which we aready have discuessed still holds true and the bike I firmly believe is the best launched in the curret segment of 150-160CC.... More questions/queries are welcomed........ Last edited by sam9s; 03-04-2009 at 08:14 PM. |

Awesome post, pics.
I also felt the bike really good package when I had a test ride but I opted out of it because of weight which I could feel at the time of U-turn. The other thing which pissed my off at that time, was the dealer's attitude as if he is doing me a favor by selling this bike to me. |

That sounds to be a good option to have... Now, what does that 3rd mode do?

I remember reading it somewhere, that the power modes are nothing but the indication for light. If it is on ECO mode, then the blinking light comes sooner, and if it is on POWER, then it comes later. This third mode, referred to as 'Know it all' (don't know the actual name) assumes you know what you are doing, and the light doesn't come.
