Has anybody changed the crash guard for GS ?

I am planning to change to it Hunk/CBZ Xtreme crash guard. Will the SC guys make the change if we take it to them, or should we take it to a local mechanic ?

Guys, how to clean that black part in the silencer ?
I don't think we can use water on it. But wiping with cloth doesn't clean it well, either.

What material is that one ?

Hmm.. even i keep praying that it doesnt stop on an upslope.
even pushing it to the side of the road will be a nightmare

Regarding the issue, it happened today also(on a straight road this time).
because the mileage was coming to 47-48 i put it back to main within 2km and i rode 10km till my house in main..

I never had this problem till first 3 services.!!
after 3rd service it happened once (may be twice, cant remember exactly).
And after 4th service(2 weeks over) already happened twice..
I think those people arent doing a good job cleaning the carb or tuning it badly.

@sanjukoli12
For mineral oil 2000-2500km is the drain interval..
Semi synthetic upto 4k
synthetic 6-8k.

And motul is good.. u can also try shell or elf moto 4 gold..

Dude, don't mess with the oil. One wrong step can be very hazardous. Be happy with the Suzuki oil (Castrol 20W40) till atleast 5000kms.

since your bike is new, stick to mineral oils upto 4-5k kms.
u can try the shell advance 20w40 oil (cost is about 200)
i've been using that only.
I found it to be much better than service centre oil.. gear shift is much smoother.

i'm not too sure about the difference between semi synthetic and synthetic..
guess semi syn. reduces friction bit better than mineral
and synthetic causes least friction with better heat dissipation and other stuff..

And after 4-5k u could switch to semi synthetic once and then full synthetic..
I've not tried these yet since my bike has done about 3.5k odo.
But mineral oils arent meant for gs150. engine gets hotter and rougher with it.

In motul i guess 3000/3100 are mineral oil.
5100 is semi syn.
300v is full syn.

Default Shaking Problem of GS console

Hi guys,

Those of you who are annoyed with the shaking of the digital console while on rough roads can try this. Get a thin piece of foam material (the foam type inner sole used in a shoe would be great) and fold it into two (cut it to the required shape) and try to stick it in the gap between the digital console and the plastic that holds the ignition key hole. Make sure it is a tight fit and voila!!! ur problem is solved.. I have tried it with success.

Happy riding guys......

Gave the bike for my first service today, 790 Km on the odo.

They will be replacing my fuel tank. Headlight, brake and rear suspension all need some adjusments. No other complaints/issues.

I tested my mileage thrice,
first, 4 litres - got 51 KMPL mileage
second, 4 litres - got 48 KMPL mileage
third, 2 litres - got 60 KMPL mileage

All in all a really good bike, very happy with it.

I got to appreciate the people at Jains Suzuki, Chennai. Was very polite and patiently asked about the issues, they even sent one of the service guys to drop me at the bus stop, as I was getting late to my office .
