any idea how much it will cost?
The Philips Made in Germany bulb that comes with Unicorn, Shine, Splendour & Passion Plusses, FZ16 is better than the Halonix one I saw on some Pulsars and Apaches. Walk down to a HH spares shop and buy the bulb. Make sure it is Philips & is made in Germany. It costs Rs 95 there. With Honda I think it costs Rs 160!!!

Don't really know how good or bad the beam is but with the same Halonix bulb the RTR gives very good lighting. The GS does seem to have a good reflector though.

well, that's what even I hear... they have to be in a projector to be legal and I can 100% understand why it is so. The light is very blinding and in normal reflectors they scatter in all directions.

For more info pls check the "Let There be Light" thread in the Universal Threads section.

Guys, please do not use HIDs or xenon lamps in the reflectors directly. It will surely blind the on coming traffic & there might be a disaster.Instead buy an aftermarket lamps & convert it to an HID.Else you can install Hella lamps which come with a H3 55w bulb.

I had posted it earlier that I have changed my bulb to a Philips 35/35w.

You mean buying a separate lamp for HID? But even that lamp is usual only, not projector type. So won't the effective output be similarly scattered as usual headlight HID?

Yup - you have a certain luminance standard - which is why if you were to put a regular bulb inside Skoda's reflectors, you'd get less light - so you have limited blinding of oncoming traffic.

With an additional H3 that's wisely mounted - you can choose to minimize inconvenience by keeping the beam focused much downwards

Hey Sam i dont think the discussions we had in the middle of this thread are boring. I really took time reading the technical pros and cons of this bike before deciding on this one. I agree it may be borin for some, but there are silent readers like me who are very much benefited. Other wise I would'nt have become a member in this group. This is my perception and I have given my opinion.

BTW I went to the showroom. My bike was standing there just arrived from the godown. It is going for registration today and will be ready this evening. I was not very much satisfied with the service those guys are offerring. Some one rightly said Suzuki ought to improve their service and marketing.
