A limited edition GS will soon be in the market with some changes in the graphics but nothing else. No change in head light reflector, no weight reduction and no rear disc brake.

Try to maintain a constant speed and do not use the clutch and brake unless it is absolutely necessary. This will increase the mileage.
Considering your driving habits, 52 kml is not a poor mileage.

I know it and I am not complaining
During my daily commutes,I have to travel so fast from Point A to Point B in a busy megacity full of downtowm slum ridden zones, that I would seldom get the opportunity of not clutching or braking. There are freak cyclists and rickshaws and autorickshaws along with Jaywalkers getting on your nerves in the busy hour everywhere. Also there are usual folks who have no work at all and stand and chat in the middle of streets for no reason.

Hence, honking horn, accelerating hard, sudden braking and even clutchless gearshifts makes my bike one hard working work horse on a daily basis

Clutch is to get in to and out of gear. There is no need of it in between the gears. If you practice to shift up or down at the correct rpm, you can do it smoothly, even without the normal ‘click’ sound from the gear box of our GS.

If done correctly, it will not damage anything in the gear box. Further, it will give you a sure increase in mileage.
By the way, how many of us do disengage the clutch fully before shifting the gear, unless it is to start the ride? These clutchless shifting is done unintentionally with a mere blip of the clutch lever and hence we do not bother about it.

The clutchless gear shifting is smoother, easier and safe if done properly and won’t do any harm to the transmission. But be sure that you are experienced to it.

I have a friend who is a real bike enthusiast, now working in an MNC in my neighbourhood in a very responsible position of gatekeeper and in-charge of the parked vehicles also has the same opinion. He is doing it in the same style for the last few years, without any harm to his bike.

[QUOTE=MSN1;577913 with shell petrol can reach 60 or + kmpl, and with normal petrol its around 55. I still use the R to R method [/QUOTE]

This mileage may be correct, Madhu. But to ensure it, please get your bike’s odometer checked in the service center or by a good mechanic.

@vishnukmd: Hmm,initially it requires patience to do perfect gearshifts for ride quality improvement, later it would be habitual. But when I am running about to get my chores done in shortest time I have no mind pressing clutch everytime,I just lower rpms and shift the gear without the clutch where there would be no noise at all.

But one thing,GS150R accelerates very fast(even faster than bikes with bigger engines) at all these instance,my riding style has been grilled to be very fast in every sections of the road, even the braking is likewise.

I hope the others in this forum will actively participate in this discussion about clutchless gear shifting. Let us leave behind this ‘thuck thuck’ and ‘tic tic’ and exaggerated milege for a while.
Mach,
It really is sad to understand that PSR has permanently left this forum. It is a loss. I know the reason but I cannot rectify it. It is beyond my limit.
