You never do touring or what?
Consider it an option, you can remove if you want, but for touring its a must I'll say for lower maintenance & durability.

But my point is "maintenance". I've already had enough with open chain on my R15

@rennycornelius, anyway you never want to buy this bike, then, why are you so bothered about its closed chain. Those who are buying, though at first likes the open chain, gradually they understand the importance of closed chain in indian roads.

Now, I very much understood the importance of a closed chain, after using the R-15 for the last one month in rains.

Along with this, the ground clearance has also been decreased to 159mm....(lower than the lowest bike I have ridden.....P220)....
Engine Oil 1.35 L is gonna be a pain.
P220's ground clearance I think is 165mm, among the highest in Indian bikes. The ZMA had a 150mm ground clearance. The ZMR bettered it.

Battery might not be that a problem. If the 3.5AH MF battery from Yuasa can handle everything in the R15 (plus one extra 35W bulb, when used with one 55/60W bulb and one 35/35W bulb) without a hitch the ZMR would be able to take a 55/60 W bulb happily with its 6Ah MF battery from Yuasa.

And even for my old Karizma which will require a tyre change in the near future.

HH(alongwith Honda) have tried to satisfy the need of every class of buyer with this product which resulted in a confused looking product.Instrument console, rear tail-lamp and the front headlight portion are the only things that I liked in this bike.I'm bit worried about the overall handling characteristics(will reserve my comment till I take a test ride) of this bike given the fact that 9kgs are added. The older ZMA was excellent around the corners and was quite good on off-road trails. Will this one also perform with same finesse?

actually i was very much not liking the fairing then came this closed chain that too with a bulky chain cover.....
open chain though requires maintainance but we bikers like to get our hands dirty once a week right???

Except fairing bike is awesome( if we take it as a whole new bike not an upgrade to ZMA)
BTW ZMA will remain in production
