^^ its the other way around....

the specs say it has an Oxyzen sensor. That completes the 6th sensor missing in the other FI bikes. Not very confident in saying this but I think this is a closed loop system.

Just got this piece of info from net..

O2 sensor is the primary measurement device for the fuel control computer to know if the engine is too rich or too lean. The O2 sensor is active anytime it is hot enough, but the computer only uses this information in the closed loop mode. Closed loop is the operating mode where all engine control sensors including the Oxygen sensor are used to get best fuel economy, lowest emissions, and good power..

So i guess it will be closed loop

I like the more technological inputs to the bike like non-contact speedo and tech tit-bits with the ECU.. but 159 kg's makes it the fattest Indian and I doubt this considerably reduces the performance and neutralise the power bump that had been given to it

So I'm expecting a test ride report from either of you at the earliest

Being a closed loop we can remap it or use piggyback's to alter the ecu's readings & eventually increase the performance or the other way round.

So now i guess the performance spec's should not be a problem to anyone.

Eagerly waiting for Nov issue of BikeIndia and 1st Impression, need to ride to feel it. ZMR written resembles Suzuki Hyabusa.

One ques though..... is the ecu re-mappable?? If re-mapping is possible then the bike should not have any issues with respect to power and top-speed

i guess the ECU is not remappable in closed loop.. It may be in openloop

In closed loop operation the ECU uses one or more oxygen sensors as a
feedback loop in order to adjust the fuel mixture. The ECU won’t run in a
closed feedback loop all the time, so ‘open loop’ is used to describe the
operation of the ECU when the mixture is not being adjusted in this way (usually when the engine is cold or when running under high load).

In closed loop operation the ECU uses the oxygen sensor to tell if the fuel
mixture is rich or lean. However, due to the characteristics of the oxygen
sensor it can’t tell exactly how rich or lean, it only knows that the mixture
is richer or leaner than optimum. The ECU will enrich the mixture if the
oxygen sensor shows that the mixture is lean, and lean the mixture if it
looks rich. The result of this is that the mixture will swing back and
forward around the stoichiometric point.

So the official press release finally happened, and without doubt we have the best pics so far of this new Karizma and hell yes, I Like It

The big bike feel is quite evident especially with people sitting on it. It looks damn comfortable (another signature characteristic of HH) and would be the best thing on the highway irrespective of the speeds!

I would like to make a point here -- the top speed of this bike is not really a concern here, 'cause it's a fact that even the current ZMA feels more relaxed at high speeds than its faster competitor!! And with the wonderful Honda PGM-FI, the relaxing nature will only get better at high speeds! This is fantastic! Mind you, I am quite positive it is not going to make it any boring to ride. A small test report on BS motoring website indicates that the bike is quicker and faster than the current ZMA!!

This bike arguably has the best FI system among Indian bikes and the overall riding experience should be much better than before. Please understand that the riding experience is kind of a long term thing, and considering ZMA's legacy, we can be quite sure that this one will bring wide smiles on people's faces

Yes, the bike has got a bit heavier but it shouldn't be very noticeable due to the considerable tech improvements.

And the price would be quite justified I guess considering the wonderful ownership experience this bike is likely to bring!

Overall, I am impressed with the new Karizma ZMR PGM-FI. Looking forward to ride it
