You and me both. But until someone brings them to these shores, they will remain as posters on the wall. The R15 is the harbinger of that change and all that is asked of you is to recognize that fact. No one is demanding that you worship it as the be all, end all of motorcycling.

OT:That can't be denied.Even the P200 Fi could be added to that list.Manufacturers must be employing a "wait and watch" policy before they go all the guns blazing!!

R15 for its awesome performance

my vote goes to R15 as it has taken performance bikeing in India to the next level. The next best would be the RTR 160 FI. Then come the Fz 16 whcih i bought in nov'08.

Payeng and Chicane - U guys are absolutely true about the MENACE. Got this info from one of the important people in a high post from TVS (cant say whom or what post). The planned launch was actually Jan - 14th. But they are now planning for April - May.

Yamaha was in full claims that they we got the best tyre for R15. But for the GIR they have recommended a different broader tyre. why was it? any idea!

In terms of performance figures the Menace might match or surpass the R15 but Matching the R15 interms of "technical specs", "technical sophistication" and "desirabilty quotient" would be quite an uphill task for the TVS Menace.

Quite true, but am sure it will give the 200/220/ZMA a run for their money. And it will not have an Fi version. Only the carb version is planned as of now. Based on the response to the 160 Fi and the niggles are sorted out, the 180 is proposed to have an Fi system!

Our own country bike makers r working soo.... hard to get to the levels of the international bike makers (Yamaha.Suzuki, HONDA.............etc....) . Even having no past experience of international racing bikes...........MAY be we should appricate for the kind of work they have done ... in short while.............................APACHE RTR-FI.... at 70k .... which international company is going to give ...a truck lot of stuff............

I didnt quite get that R15 being the first multi-link monoshock. if the stress is on multi-link then ya R15 is the first. The Unicorn might be from the chinese template, but still the Honda decided/chose on that template and gave us the bike. Its not right to speak as if Honda was cornered to put a monoshock

Actually, Honda and Yamaha did the same thing with the Unicorn and the R15. Take an existing bike in another country, change the wardrobe a bit and introduce it as an "All new" bike in India. The wardroble change just happened to be an upgrade in the case of the R15 and a downgrade for the Uni.


I certainly do appreciate the fact that Honda introduced a monoshock bike in india, direct action or not. What I do not appreciate is that they didn't bother to follow up on it.

The launch was anyways planned for April - May. Nothing for Jan - Feb. The RTR 180 is still under going tests and updates. However the works are almost final now.
