Buddies,
First of all, I want to enter into the Stunts World! In stunting, I am a beginner. Actually, I just know to lift up front wheel for less than 3 seconds when I start bike from 0. I can't even run my bike in one wheel for more than 4-5 meters. Please tell me, for the beginner like me, I should start from wheelie or stoppie ? Actually, which is a bit complicated? What is the rpm and gear I should maintain during doing wheelie? Advance thanks!

Guys im not saying that im a pro or something, but i feel the main thing stopping the bike from reaching the proper angle where the weight of the bike disappears is "fear"... overcome that, (easiest way is to wear full protective gear, so if u fall nothing will happen to you)
Wheelie : The way i do it, i put the bike in first, roll on to a speed of say about 15kmph, move my butt a little behind, push the front shocks in, half throttle and pop the clutch with u leaning back, once u reach the point where the bike is weightless, u have to maintain that point my controlling the throttle and back brake. It will be scary at first, but come on, you're geared up, if u fall, ull fall at 30kmph, the gear will take all the impact. If u wanna learn to stunt, u gotta learn to fall first ![]() Stoppie : A basic stoppie can be done in any bike, if u ask me, but i found the ideal bike for an easy stoppie is an r15... Roll on at a speed of about 50 - 55kmph, hold the tank with your thighs , hands straight, and lock the brake, the bike will lift when its about to stop... Rolling stoppies are different, they have different methods. will post about that soon Here are a few pics

I am still learning to hold wheelies for a long time, but I have managed to control stoppies now...
(Before trying to do a stoppie, ride ur bike for 1-2 kms so that the tire is warm enough, and also check the tarmac doesn't have small gravel or your front tire doesn't has small stones stuck between the grip. It might result in a skid. I used to practice stoppies on a newly constructed road, perfect grip )For a basic stoppie, first try jamming your front breaks at 10-12 kmph with your weight shifted forward (Pic 1). You will get an idea and how it feels and the heart will pump faster . You will get an idea how much weight you need to shift. Now try doing it at 15-20 kmph and jam the front brakes (pic 2). Then try 25-30 kmph and brake, the rear tire will lift and good enough height and never take ur legs off your footpegs (like I did in pic 3 ), it might disbalance the bike. I have done stoppies at 30 kmph (pic 3). For rolling stoppies, the bike should be at least 45-50kms per hour and jam the front brakes half, don't jam it full, otherwise you will tumble. If you are trying a rolling stoppie for the first time, try it at slower speeds, the rear tire will lift and gradually increase the speed, you will gain confidence. Never try or perform stunts at public places and/or without proper safety gears. It can be fatal.

Now about myself : My name is Reny Cyril, i have been a professional stunter for the past year and had been doing wheelies since i was 14. that about covers my intro... ![]() Now on to the main course Wheelies and how to do it. A basic wheelie (sit-down wheelie) is not as complex as it may seem. To begin with a wheelie or any other stunt it is compulsory to wear protective gears since falls are inevitable. First consider checking the clutch, rear brake (your insurance policy) reduce your Tyre pressure a little bit which will make it grip better on the road and check the chain and please do not do any kind of stunts in or around traffic and do not cause any disturbance to the public. everything set, now you'll be ready to take the steps towards pulling your first wheelie.. There are two types of wheelies they are the 'power wheelie' and the 'clutch wheelie' I will be explaining the clutch wheelie in this segment cos most stock bikes we use today in our county are a little bit weak for the power wheelie. A wheelie might be easy to attain but to go further and to control the bike and to pull off other wheelie based stunts there is a certain aspect of the wheelie that should be taken into consideration quite seriously and that is the application of the rear brake to control the angle of the wheelie when it reaches and tips from the balance point. 1. Start to move the bike at around 10-15 kmph, pull the clutch and tap the rear brake so the front shock absorbers compress. rev the accelerator first a little bit, the release timing of the rear brake and the clutch should be simultaneous. With enough revs you should be able to lift the front end. 2. (consider this as the most important part of a wheelie) "BRAKING" the rear brake is your best friend while doing a wheelie it prevents you from flipping backwards. In the beginning, try to put down every single wheelie with the help of the rear brake, this is to help you to remember that there is a certain thing called the rear brake (which would be a little hard to remember amidst all the adrenaline rush) practice this for a few days. 3. Next you can take it a step higher by lifting the front end even higher as much as possible until you reach an angle around 60 degrees, now comes the most important factor after reaching the balance point, try to tap the rear brake a little bit so as to dip the wheelie height a little bit and accelerate when the bike comes a little bit below the balance point. "this brake and throttle balancing is the most important part of a wheelie" 4. Body balancing. the bike will slant to either the left or the right. you can counter that by using the weight of your body. If the bike shifts right you can counter it by shifting you body weight to the left and tugging it slightly with your hands and your knees on the tank. likewise with the slant to left side. and like wise you can manage the a little power loss by shifting your body weight back and forth. and that about covers the topic on a basic (sit-down) wheelie. Guys if you like my post leave reply's or likes... Hope that this helps.. ![]() And by the way, my Facebook id is "reny cyril" n my fan page could be found by the name reny aka fuhrer Last edited by renyakafuhrer; 10-11-2011 at 01:13 AM. I read the entire thread. I noticed that most guys can get it up, but are unable to keep it up for as long as they wish. The only cure I can think of for this problem is Viagra
