Are you serious? I mean, a stunt rider can handle bike better than a regular commuter? I am no stunt rider, but I know to handle my bike.. Accidental wheelie? Learn to control the clutch.. there will be no accidental wheelie.. I used to tour a lot and most of the things i learnt were from getting the experience from the rides.. learning to control a wheelie is not going to save you from cross winds and head on wind blasts.. nor it is going to give you the stamina you need to ride long..

You did mention you know to do wheelie and you used to do it with a 150cc bike.. now what is the query?? You wanna learn to do wheelie to keep yourself alert on the highways or do you wanna learn to do wheelie for stunt purpose? On a Duke 390, learn to control the clutch.. Play with the clutch and acceleration...

Yea I did wheelie on 100 & 150cc bikes but that's easy to do. But not regularly. I tried on this bike and this lifts too fast & this bike is heavy so am scared to do a wheelie.

Don't do it untill & unless you are professional, duke has got immense amount of power, practice controlling it's power instead of wheelie it will help you in controlling this bike in traffic & panic situations.

Exactly.. Once the control is there, it is going to be easy to do a wheelie...

Duke 390 is heavy. I guess you were riding Hero Puch or Bajaj Street earlier then.

And yes I hope you got your answer on how to wheelie here or in "biker" term, clutch control for you

hahahaha! Just let the guy wheelie and help if you can. If you have to ask "Why do you want to wheelie?" then you'll never get it.

Since this is an approved thread for wheelies, I feel we should not question the motives, whatever they might be.

Assuming, that the person would be responsible for safety (his own and others around him) as well as would perform stunts knowing fully well about the other dangers and legalities (read Illegalities) associated with it!

That being said, i dont think Wheelies can be learned by reading instructions!

Remember, don't post pictures or videos of your wheelies at social networking sites, might come in handy to the insurance companies!

It wasn't about what is the motives and stuff but his reason to learn how to do wheelie.. you get the point right?

Yea bro. Need to learn how to control that power. Even in third gear when there's sand patch in road it skids & when taking a U-Turn even a minor blip in throttle make it twist Cz I weight just 55kg [emoji23][emoji23](48-50 when I bought the bike) Am driving bike for several years. Am good at controlling in traffic & doing even level 4 lean (number marked on Metzeler tyres)

In corners but I wanna use the full potential of bike which needs training.

                            yes I do.

(no offence against any members involved in this entire thread) But the way this thread was going reminded me of engineering Viva exams. You give one wrong answer and the examiner starts digging deeper into your logic

The reason for my cross questioning was simple, someone who said he did wheelie on 100cc i scared of duke's wheelie, and then being a tourer he wants to learn everything and not to forget the statement saying that stunters have better control over bike.

I used to make use of front suspension for wheelies. Just push handlebar down and leave clutch suddenly when suspension recoils. But I don't do it any more now since I fell once, my pillion rider got hurt in the leg, I was not used to wear safety jackets.
