  • How to Wheelie??

@ all the talented and skilled lot: please, pass your knowledge and tips about reaching the vertical limits on pulling mono's..balancing point et al

What are the different types of wheelies/ dump clutch? power wheelie??

How to's ..pics and/ or step by step would be greatly appreciated by all eager novices..

what to watch out for and so on..

Question One: Do you have to kiss mother earth and be a tarmac ornament before you learn to hold a wheelie for than more than two seconds?? Is there a rite of passage here? Does the 'no pain, no gain' hold for learning wheelies??

please do pen down your thoughts / experience..

bhai! it is not a big thing ,that requires guides and how tos . .but be ready for a fall(means proper riding gears).although I can pull wheelies comfortably ,dont have the courage to have a single hand wheelie and all.
        --
after seeing some panjabi guys doing the wheelies on bullets(youtube) ,I am tempted to do.and I tried.the thing just lifts ,but needs 3rd gear minimum to survive with the speeds! @Desideep :any tries?

Without safety riding gears like helmets , elbow and knee guard , don't try to ever do stunts.
Wheelie can be easily pulled in 2nd gear with good torqe bikes like Unicorn, Apache , Pulsar 200 and 180 , e.t.c

You need to start from stepups not jug ups.
Keep the first aid kit with you while doing stunts.

You need to sit a little back and some good throttle and clutch release and there you go wheelieeeeeeeeee...

If you have a manual geared bike - with good clutch settings - there we go wheeeelieeeee......

But before doing do not avoid wearing proper riding gears....

prefer atleast a helmet and gloves - coz when u fall helmet will save ur head.......

Make sure - the clutch is perfect - the tyre pressure can be set to somewhere near by 30 or even 28... coz if the pressure is full - the wheelie will not stand....

Make sure you have a stock handlebar and not the local clip-ons.....
coz i have an experience of broken clip on while plugging down after a wheelie....

Raise the bike - start and go after the second gear - plug the clutch and raise her - to a good throttle - and release the clutch ----- its better to raise and test it slowly step by step ..... coz certain bikes like P200 - RTR can pull up easily and may result in a complete collision.....

So make sure you pull it step by step by testing the throttle response that your bike is giving.........

Its better to start learning from lower end bikes....

RX100 teached me the concept of wheeling.....its really easy to pullup a wheelie in a powerfull twostroker.....

Boy, go gotta check the MCN Guide to Wheelies on YouTube...I learn the basics from that vid and am pulling the smaller ones now on my CBZ, finishing off it's 40k km old clutch plate.

PS: Also check out some lessons on stunting on a Buell...don't remember the exact title, but it showed how not to keep your arms straight when pulling a clutch wheelie. Explained it funnily, using an analogy to reverse bench-press.

                    From my skillz and comfort

Popping up wheelies is not a hard job if its done on 1st gear on any bike.. But if u want to carry it for kilometers then you should lift it up on second gear and its bit difficult to lift..

How to lift bike on 2nd gear?
Just get on to your bike n ride it for couple of meters around speed of 20/30kmph.. Concentrate on d bike motion n mind it that RPM shld not go above 3000-5000.. clutch release shld be effective n use a bit of rear brake to press the frnt fork.. as the shocks react pull the bike with your forearms at the time of clutch release... Get your bike on to the balancing point so that RPM shld not go up. Rear brake should be used so that if bike goes above the balancing point u can help to get it down easily..
And please dont spred your legs or dont take out your legs frm the foot pegs if bike react frequently as this will disbalance the bike..
More will be coming from my side till then work on this it will help you for sure..
This wheelie funda was according to my style of lifting wheelies..

The RD is the first and only bike i have ever owned. so basically i have grown as a rider with it and i have particularly got accustomed to its two stroke nature and the power delivery pattern. i know all this sounds like utter crap . but thats the way it is for me.
anyways thanks a lot for showing concern
