Hello Guys,

We are planning to go to Leh, Spiti from May 28th to June 19th.

Here's the link for the plan for 2011 Leh - Spiti road trip.

Confirmed
1) Sachin Nair - sachinnair - ZMR
2) Deepan Devraj - Xstunter - Karizma R
3) Puneet Yashod - N4Speed - Karizma R

Guys please have a look at the Leh - Spiti plan sheet and looking forward to receive valuable feedback and important pointers that we need to keep in my mind.

Apart from Leh is there any other place where we need permit and pass that needs to be arranged.

Looking forward to here from you all

Why so early? If the passes don't open in time then the whole plan will go for a toss. Plan atleast an week later than your proposed dates.

@ MG Bhai,

We are planning to go to Amritsar and then via Srinagar route reach Leh. We will reach Jammu on 31st May and we will proceed for Srinagar on 1st June. I guess this route opens early than the Manali Leh route.
Kindly suugest on this.

Well leaves are approved only from 28th May onwards & Puneet has to go to Spain with his family on 24th June so cant plan it a week later unfortunately.

We're planning to stay in Delhi on 28th , then ride to Amritsar on 29th and stay in Amritsar at 30th May. So hopefully we wont have any issues with the passes.

@xstunter / Sachin - Yes you are right but you never know. Last year it was on open/closed stage during the same time of the year. Anyways in extreme case you guys can very well do the circuit anti-clockwise i.e start from the Spiti side.

Anti Clockwise. Will surely give it a thought.

MG can you help with the places where we need to take permits?

Is it only in Leh or any other places too?

I dont think Spiti route would be open by June 1st week (Grampoo - Chandertaal - Tabo). So i suggest to spend more time in Nubra Valley / Pangong Tso. Try to pitch in Tso Mori inplace of Chandertal.

Couple of us from xbhp TVM are planning Leh in August. June is too early for us. But will keep a tab of this thread for useful info.
