No issues at all. Just be careful while crossing the water streams as the water gets on to the fairing and pushes the bike. Dont mind slipping your foot into the water, Just balance the bike and move ahead.Originally posted by Sachinnair View Post

The dates what you have chosen. IMO, you will hardly find any substantial water crossing. Just small patches may be 3-4. The only problem in that would be dipping your leg in the ice-cold water
Dont worry too much, its not a big deal.
M35 for front is good. M45 rear makes a perfect combo. But for the terrain you will be riding, you may also look into hard compound tyres having big blocks. Something like MRF Meteor. Its cheap & good for those roads.. Nail will think twice before entering
Just carry enough cold cloths..

My answers in bold. Have you finalized the itinerary?Originally posted by Sachinnair View PostIs it possible to cover from Drass to Leh which will be around 300 kms in a day?
Yes, quite possible
Will the permit office be open on Saturday?
No
Any particular reason for Avoiding stay at Jammu?
Too crowded. Infact, avoid jammu altogether. Bypass jammu through the Pathankot - Kathua - Dyalachak - Udhampur route and stay in Udhampur if you want." I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not" - Kurt Cobain

After touring Leh-Ladakh last year, I am looking forward to tour Spiti-Lahaul this summer. Due to lack of home ministry approval, I would be renting bike from Delhi. I will love to do it the backpack style.
I am in search of companions for this tour. And I need a good itinerary so that the tour is done in 10 days starting from Delhi. Also I need contacts of trusted dealers who rent bikes and tents in Delhi.
Please help !

Thanks for your suggesstions.Originally posted by kurtrules View PostMy answers in bold. Have you finalized the itinerary?
Ya. You can check the plan on the first post.
Do we have ATM facilities available in certain places or do we need to carry cash with us after a certain point?
Rony let me know your plan. Are your dates finalised?Originally posted by Rony View PostAfter touring Leh-Ladakh last year, I am looking forward to tour Spiti-Lahaul this summer. Due to lack of home ministry approval, I would be renting bike from Delhi. I will love to do it the backpack style.

Dates are fixed but plan might alter based on the discussion here. We better roam somewhere in North rather than waiting back home.Originally posted by HIMANSHU Paralkar View Post@sachin:i am also planning for leh-ladakh..4 of us are leaving from mumbai on 1 june.so if you are thinking to leave late as many of them have told u..we may join u..let me know if there are any changes or else will meet in leh
Stay in touch and let us know your tentative plan so that we have better understanding. Will definitely meet bro if it is possible.
Its been made by Deepan & Me. I spend Sleepless nights making each day, route, stay and what not.Originally posted by Rony View PostHmm ... saw that on the spreadsheet ... btw who compiled it ?? ... Still you can see there are many changes that has to be made as per suggesstions of experience members.
I find Spiti plan equally comfortable and I dont think it is hectic at all. Do you think we are missing anything from Spiti??

Whats the feasability of doing a trip to ladakh in may beginning? Am joining college in june and am quitting my job in april end. So i would prefer doing a two week trip so that i can come back and prepare for college.
Also, I know its difficult to give out a figure in terms of the expenditure, but can anyone give me a ball park figure for a two week trip?
