Default Harley Davidson SuperLow or Hyosung ST7

I am planning to invest between 6-7 lacs on a cruiser. I have been riding a Yamaha R15 and am pretty happy with that. But now that the options for bikers are widening, I am very much interested to try my hands on a proper cruiser - Fat boy like.

Ofcourse, the Fat boy is a lot more expensive and will only remain my dream bike. But with the Harleys coming down in price on their basic models, I am wondering if I should go for HD SuperLow or the Korean cruiser Hyosung ST7.

I love the looks of Hyosung ST7 as it is a poor man's Fat Boy. But I guess the quality of SuperLow would be better than that of the Korean counterpart.

Any suggestions??

Gowri,

Go in for the Harley! u will never regret it. get it and Ride with pride! no second opinions if u have a Harley in mind and if u can afford it.St 7 might be good but Harley has a lot of history, tradition and its own character to go with it, so i would suggest u go in for a Harley. About ground clearance, don't worry, almost all cars have low ground clearance so jus take it slowly over speed breakers. all the best for your ride.

I feel when you are spending so much on a dream bike then without a doubt you should go For Harley. It has a heritage, tons of genuine accessories to cutomise and will earn you respect on the road every time you take it out and that is something worth spending !!

all the best

Cheers

i think you should go for Harley, the reason is that - it will be more reliable, will last a life time without much problems of spare parts or accessories. and last but not the least, the name Harley is enough.

on the other hand, only reason, you can go for ST7, is it looks bigger than superlow. so, if looking big is your criteria then only choose ST7.

also check harley Superlow's ergonomics with respect to your height, because i think it is a bit small and height is also less than other models.

decide wisely.

Thumbs up Here you go...

Hi Gowri,

I may not be the right person to comment but still adding few points. Both are muscle cruisers. May be you can contact the owners individually to find out the cons. I'll not compare the performance of the motorcycles (it will be vague at this stage) but if I were you, I will go for Harley for their proven Evolution V-Twin engine & the cost. Hope you have enough built & mass to drive any one of these monsters... Attached is the rough comparison, there are many more aspects but it depends on individual. Good luck with your purchase.
I had a feel of ST7 &the first impression was not good. I didn't like bike at all, it bulky & huge. If I take it out for touring the turning radius & weight of the bike will cause me lot of problems even though I'm well built. I checked Harleys in US & it was instant love at first site (depends on the model you choose). Also HD as a package is just fantastic which is ST7 can not & never going to offer.
EDIT: Last Para
