That's a lot of time to wait for (a) Test drive and then (b) for the booking and delivery part

Its hard to find somebody in Mysore for sure (nobody i guess ) and are there plans of Hyosung showroom being set up in Bangalore???

HD is there , so the chances of you landing a Test ride of the Superlow are more and may be a lot sooner when compared to ST7 hence may be acquiring one too.

    Ride safe and Have fun!

Yea..no body in Mysore to my knowledge. Hyosung is still in talks. Looks like we might start getting test rides from mid of next month (may be earlier if lucky) in Bangalore. But HD doesn't give SuperLow for test rides. They give Iron883 for test rides and say that Super low will feel the same as they share the engine.
      Thanks,

Hyosung is not new to Indian riders. They had Comet and Acquila. BTW, many people also don't know HD .

What happened to your HD hunt? Did you book it?

Frankly, I don`t like the looks of SuperLow that much and the Hyosung ST7 just bowls me over everytime I see it. ST7 has a better ground clearance and still has lower seat height than Super Low for a proper cruiser.

But SuperLow being a HD, is cheaper than Hyosung. And the exhaust note is just mind blowing.

Although I am not a big enthusiast to be a part of Harley Riding Group, it definitely wouldn`t harm to be part of one.

Looks like test rides are the only way to decide.
            Thanks,

              Srishetty and gowri...
sure the St7 looks pretty big compared to superlow which looks smaller than a bullet in flesh.. but I feel the superlow is the one with a proven engine, service network and better cruiser heritage than the hyosung...
I Agree we are familiar with the hyosung brand in india. but it is yet to pove itself in the cruiser market.
me still dreaming of my superlow not booked yet :-(

been following ur thread quite sum time now.
went thro these arguements in my mind before i booked .....superlow! now thats the silliest thing i have heard from an HD guy is that the superlow will feel the same!
cos the engine is the same?
whoever said that ride quality is decided by the engine.
HD has been selling superlow with the punchline that it offers true HD spirit with a much better ride quality. And abroad where they do not have such long waiting people vouch for the ride quality of course ur inseam wud matter there. Given the moolah i wud have gone for a softail or a dyna...so superlow is obviously a compromise sumwhere.
Hyosung is definitely a new ringtone and perhaps thats why the hesitation to accept the on paper good specs and those ravishing looks. But it sure looks good. Good enough to buy. I booked the superlow cos in the segment harley has been the leader playing much longer in history and i was sold out on the history and evolution. Plus though second hand knowledge it may be, I have heard commendable things abt their R&D.
Plus i blew a lot of money on getting their merchandise from US jackets gloves keychains belt etc and they make me very happy!
downside...harley enters india to save it from the recession hit sales and when they take off here they go back on promises. My superlow scheduled for delivery tomo at hyderabad is now delayed 2-1/2 months. Reminds me of good old Royal Enfield. Plus they had sum really pathetic merchandise at HD hyd.
im sure once hyosung proves itself on indian ground which my prediction is it will its goin to take a bite of sum size out of harley's share.

Totally agree that Harley has better cruiser heritage as a brand. But the superlow, for all it is, is a Sportster. None of the Harley Sportsers have the cruiser DNA.

When it comes to Hyosung, even if we consider it new in India (forgetting its forgettable past), they are establishing themselves in entry level cruiser and sports bike categories in countries like UK and the US. They do get good reviews for their products in those markets.
                  Thanks,

Hey, congrats on your booking. While it is sad to see that your delivery date is moved, be happy if you get it in 2 months. I heard they have received lots of kits from US and now in customs. Yours might be in that lot...

Sridhar, can you please let me know how the stock exhaust sounds in Iron 883? I listened to Screaming Eagle and was totally awestruck. Wanted to hear the difference.

Wanted to hear its music when revved in different gears.

And any idea about the HD Fit Shop coming to India?? Basically they tweak the bikes to fit to the rider. For instance, they have successfully adjusted the Roadking to be ridden by a 5' 1" lady and adjusted a fatboy to be comfortably ridden by a 5' 8" gentleman.

A quick question: Of HD SuperLow and Hyosung ST7, which one would be suitable for a trip to Ladakh?

I am so happy that I found this thread. I have the same dilemma. There are some good arguments by the members.

Hyosung looks brutish but the HD has a bigger and better engine (read my sig)

Gowri... what bike are you leaning towards as of now? and what are your thoughts on the pros and cons of each.
