From the coastal city of Mangalore, the #roadTripUnited crew moved to the coastal state of Goa. And it turned out to be a lovely ride hugging the seashore with some gorgeous vistas.
In Goa, we stayed in Treebo Sea Coin, Colva, a stone’s throw from the beach. We had a pleasant surprise there with some of the riders from G.E.A.R.S, led by Akshay, having come down to meet us.
The next day we had our G2G in the International Centre Goa, Dona Paula, where arrangements had once again been made by Akshay. It was lovely to see so many bikers getting together, even though it was a weekday evening, almost everyone came there straight after work!
We kicked off proceedings by first introducing xBhp and #roadTripUnited to the bikers of Goa. Once again Akshay was at the helm of affairs and spoke about the ethos of the community and how it has evolved over the last couple of decades.
We showed our video from Australia, the #powerTrip360 and Sunil spoke about his experiences of riding there and also the first time xBhp’s India ride landed up on the shores of Goa and the experience of reaching there in the middle of the night and spending the night in a hospital because the hotels were all booked out!
Two lady bikers present shared their experiences on stage with us on the difficulties and challenges that women face when the biking bug bites.
The motorcycling clubs present were invited on stage and presented with a ‘Note of Thanks’ for their contribution to motorcycling in the country. The club heads also posed for a group photo with the ‘i the Biker | we the Power’ placards as a symbol of motorcycling unity. The ‘i the Bike’ memento was also presented to the bikers of Goa.
After a lovely meet, it was time for us to move on from Goa to the state of Maharashtra, where we were to meet the bikers of both Pune and Mumbai in one big mega G2G!
