    • Is there anything available in Indian Shops?
It would be a plus point if we could have a feel of it before payment!

Well, I happen to own an expensive bike and I'm one of the paranoid owners. I have two motorcycles. Here's what I do:
        • I have a Xena XZN8. That's a disc lock and alarm that makes a very loud sound as soon as someone touches the bike and shakes the handlebar even by a little bit. The lock is made of solid steel and the bit goes into one of the disc gaps - so it's nearly impossible to cut through. I lock the front disc of the bike with this. This lock, for me, serves many purposes. It also scares people off when the bike is (very rarely) parked out of my sight and people begin to check it out. No one dares sit on the bike once the alarm sounds.
        • I have a normal, inexpensive but tough disc lock (300 bucks) - which is again effective since it immobilizes the vehicle. The lock is very tough itself - and to break it would mean cutting through it. Again a tough proposition for most thieves.
        • I keep the gate to my house locked 24x7
        • I keep the bikes covered. I put on the covers as soon as the bikes cool down.
        • I always chain the bikes together at night. Get a solid chain and a big lock. Ensure that when you chain the bikes, the chain is not on the ground - that'll help the thieves hit it with something heavy and break it against the ground.

What I'm wondering is, if you're getting the Duke 200, you'll have to be just as careful because it'll attract attention. You HAVE to park it in an enclosed space. Parking it on the streets would ensure that it gets stolen/damaged.
Thanks for the advice! I would surely use your intel for raising the protection for my bike!
Is Xena XZN8 available in India (in addition to ebay mode)?
P.S. - The Xena website doesnt list India where the dealers are available!

Few guys in xBhp own it; you'll need to touch base with them to get a feel of it

So what other good options do I have (which i am sure you would know of )?
Also, I would not like to do any Jugad with the bike. but if there is no option, i have to consider them

Pretty straight forward...get it from US or order through ebay India. You might want to find out who has it in Pune, unless you want to ride down to Bangalore/Chennai where few people use it.

the grab rails on this bike are not behind but beside the seats. most have felt it very uncomfortable.

Ya Pillion is intended to grab the rider rather than rail, kinda good if u have a gal fren...

                      • Got a call from KTM South Delhi (Vasant Kunj) saying that the bikes are still in PDI and there is no information about delivery.
Initially it was informed that the delivery would be made tomorrow, i.e., Friday, 24 Feb. They also said that Mr. Gaurav Bagga (owner of the dealerships) wanted to hand over the bikes himself so, information on the delivery date will be given tomorrow.

This is getting to be a ridiculously long and excruciating wait.

P.S. - Mods, can we please have a common Duke thread? One thread is in "news" and the other is in "first impressions", have to browse through both to keep up.

                        • Question to the new duke owners:

What about the powerparts, are they available yet ?
The pics of freshly delivered dukes look pretty much like factory originals...

Mine is the 137th booking in Bangalore.. still didnt get any call yet

Is one from Pune? If yes, that would be my friend who got his bike today morning.

                            • XENA Disc locks

                              Hey guys,

Sorry about replying late. And yes, unfortunately, there are no Xena dealerships in Bangalore/India. There are some local shops in Bangalore, I hear, who stock these locks but sell them for a premium.

I got mine from eBay UK. It cost me a total of roughly 3200 bucks including shipping. Here's the listing

Although it looks like they've run out of stock. You might want to get in touch with the seller and ask him when to expect more pieces. This, or an equivalent lock, is a must have if you want peace of mind.

Yeah this 1 isn't available but there are other similar options. I am trying to open up the ebay india's website but there is some error! Will talk to their CC tomorrow. Hope they have something, else will order online from UK website!
