No man I swear I bought him a Pizza and then asked him to tell me the truth and he was like "is this why you got pizza tonight?!?!?" So he was like okay the rear mudguard was sticking out way beyond the tail end and he even said he saw the KTM DUKE Logo on the tank and said the sound was just unmistakable KTM...So it was definitely a KTM 200 DUKE and it was so far away from the Kanjurmarg KTM Store that it could not have been on test ride!!! But then again KTM Store Kanjurmarg says they haven't started deliveries yet so...sigh back to square one!!!
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Some1 on FB's official page also claims that the KTMs are running in Mumbai through "unofficial" route! He also says that he will come back with a proof!
Anyways, its a matter of a couple of weeks now when you can get hands on your bike!

To cross check it, there is no other way but to wait for the bike delivery & owner's feedback!

y shudnt the indicator be accurate..?? its a FI engine wer ecu determines the exact amount of fuel to be injected in each powerstroke..so u hav fuel consumed and u hav the distance covered also...so ther shouldn't be much of an error...and ofcourse the Test drive bikes will show less FE since they will be reved in standing condition also...
          Cheers

            Hmm... u r correct.
I was wondering whether the FE is instant figure (in that particular moment) or the trailing one (From ignition On to Engine Kill)!
            Anyone has any idea?

Also, about 10 allocations have happened in Pune Showroom. Those who have booked on 1st Feb, may check with the probiking ppl!

              trailing one i guess.

ecu doesn't take in to account clutch wear, quality of fuel, amount of fuel evaporated.for a such short distance ride the degree of error is more.

donno how it is in ktm...i havnt checked out the bike yet...
but in cars they have both instantaneous mileage and the overall mileage

ther will be an error in the amount of fuel to be injected taking into account of clutch wear and quality of fuel...but that still u have the correct amount of fuel that is actually injected..are u getting my point..?
and u cannot calculate the amount of fuel that is vaporized in the tank...i think it wil be negligible if u use the bike daily.
                    Cheers

hey i got the confusion resolved by a senior member, average fuel consumption=distance traversed/amount of fuel injected.if there is clutch-wear the distance travelled itself reduces.ecu doesn't detect evaporation.

                        • I had been to KTM Showroom Indiranagar on Sunday to take a TD. It has got awesome pickup and the power in 3rd/4th gear is really worth the wait. I checked with them and found that it would be delivered within 90 days from the date of booking. Just keeping my fingers crossed assuming that the bike will be delivered by next month. By the way, I booked one on 11/02/2012. Its been 10 days now and it looks like I am in love with this Orange Beauty which is making me really restless and impatient.

                          • did the ktm test ride

                            Hi,

I did the KTM test ride in Bangalore. The bike is very quick and light-weight. Howeve, I did not like the riding posture. Its too upright for me.

I have a question for all of you. One of my friend, height 6'3", wants to book it. But I have suggested him not to given his height, since I did not find its posture enjoyable. Mind you my height is 5'9" only.

What do you guys think. How will this bike be for a 6'3" guy who wants to use it for weekend trips.

                            • Test Ride

Did a Test ride last Saturday at Indira agar, Bangalore showroom. Went there by 3PM on Friend's R15 V2. Some 10-15 were waiting outside taking turns for the Test ride. Test ride was well managed with Token slips. Mine was 90+th test ride.Guys at counter quoted 90 day waiting period like elsewhere.

Test Ride: It's a really short ride, just a circle around the showroom with a person from the showroom as pillion.

Handling: First thing I felt is the difference in handling after riding R15, it's like maneuvering a cycle with a engine(insert a very powerful engine), Amazing pickup,
Acceleration is linear, Details on Console looked tiny while riding,
                              Brakes are sharp and responsive.
Felt a light vibration on the handle bars. Gear levers are small and needs a flexible ankle to operate.

Looks: Looked amazing from front and rear, Indicators and 150 section Tyre are a looker but on the side it looks like suppressed. Very small I should say. Doesn't look great for a tall and stout person. Rear seat is small. I would say a bulky rider and a stranger of opposite sex would find it awkward to ride together.

Verdict : It's Unique,It's Awesome. Purpose build. Can't be compared with any other bike, It's not the performance but the distinguished character it has.

Ps: Fnd took a short video of me riding.

When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D
