    +1
All these bikes are close in terms of Performace but not that ground breaking apart from each other
Surely all these bikes are made for its own purpose. Propose to fulfill a bikers need.
We remember bikes like R15 / Ninja taking Indian Biking to a Next Level by becoming Indians 1st Supersport class model & 1st Quater Liter Sports bike resectively. And now its KTM 200 turn to turn heads and add one more section to Indian Biking .... ( Real Street Fighter )

Surely, it maynot be best on highway among the pack but its purpose is not to rule highway but to rule the streets.
Thats why Yamaha made two products out of same engine and body ..... FZ ( 1st Lord of the Streets ) and Fazer ( for the highways )

        • Nice review and awesome clicks But am still in dilemma.. Is it a Touring bike?,Track bike?, Street bike?(Stunting purpose too) or summing up of all character? Anyway Orange and Green ruling the Indian roads without any doubt
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

Don't get me wrong here but I had tons of such discussions in past, but didn't see anything useful coming out of it.

See, there is a difference of 0.5-0.8 sec between the times mentioned by various mags, this is when sometimes they all get to test the same bike.
Even if the same bike is tested by the same rider, it is possible that due to other factors the time could differ, normally they quote the best of 3/N attempts. Here BAL might have quoted the worse of N attempts.
On that note, I was curious to see the dips in the acceleration graphs for all the bikes, some of those dips could be due to gear shifts but there are just too many of them. And then the dips are also in the in-gear roll-on graphs.

@MG/Sunny: Did you guys felt uneven/bump if the acceleration (in one single gear), as shown in the graph for KTM?

I have never tried to see how much time it takes, so can't comment.
OT: Oh but ~110 on speedo is a true 100(as shown on GPS) on R15 (atleast on my bike). While the CBR250 has lesser speedo error at 100 on GPS (don't recall the exact speedo reading).

It is essentially a Street bike which can perform other duties.

Not exactly but the rev limiter hits pretty early which anyways is due for a change in the final version

With the official claim of 135 and this bike doing 138 on speedo says that there is very little speedo error in KTM200

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX which is certainly more accurate over a phone gps (and we tested a popular android unit back to back to see the accuracy, which failed to register an accurate reading) and on a recent top speed run I hit 152 kph speedo in 5th at 11800RPM and ran out of road as I shifted up to 6th. Which was 141 kph on the GPS. (Stock R15 does 130 kph in 5th )

At 100 the error is ~7-8kph if I can remember correctly. But I do recall a friend and I riding sometime ago and we cruising at around 140kph on my speedo and the CBR250 tailing me had recorded 131 kph on a similar unit mounted on the bike. I'm not sure what speed my friend registered on the speedo.

Besides 138 or 140 kph+ is still an excellent speed for the KTM. The wind blast would anyway make it uncomfortable to hold such speeds over long touring distances. I prefer to ride a fully faired bike at high speeds. KTMs are known for their acceleration and this one I hope lives up to the standards.

I'm hopeful that it will easily out accelerate my current ride. That would make it a real fun machine in my opinion and perhaps even a good second bike for me. I am really looking forward to its launch and hoping to swing a leg over it and get a ride in the days to come and gauge its performance for myself.

Sorry for the confusion. When I said GPS, I was referring to my Garmin eTrex Vista Cx.

Good to see a different type of bike in the Indian segment. I hope they price it well..
The orange looks mind blowing also those graphics and body panels. Bajaj Please launch it in the mid segment as for the price is concerned....

Though day running lights are useful, you have all kinds of people pointing towards you reminding you to switch of your lights.

And they frequently make gestures that are funny, and if you have a female pillion, can be considered as obscene
