Pulsar NS rear tyre section is not 120 but 130....

the wider the tyre the more effect it would have on mileage... it applies to all automobiles right from a bike to a car....

      Happy Riding....

Though i could not test ride the bike in pune, still i went ahead and booked it. The reasons -
        1. Excellent peer review (word of mouth publicity).
        2. Differentiation (First Duke )
        3. A fast bike without fairing
        4. Appetite for risking 3000 if initial owner reviews doesn't come as pleasing as expected.

I hope i took a good decision! Time will tell.

Yesterday evening @ 4 pm, it was ~ 60. I believe right now it would be ~ 70-80. But this coming weekend, it could cross the 3 figure mark. I think the non availability of Test Drive has kept the booking @ a lower rate.

They attendant in the showroom said it would be available for TD in another week. Held up because of some RTO issues.

I have seen it somewhere without engine guard, looks better.

I feel like rear chain sprockets is small in NS, that could be the reason for higher mileage.

                      • spell bound by duke !!

went for a quick look over to the bangalore pbk and was just spell bound by the ktm duke !!

there were some concerns and all were gone in a whiff by a single glance.

Would the bike be small for a tall guy and average built person like me ?? woah the bike is huge from the
tank to the rear tyres to the dashboard. particularly liked the front and rear tyres.

since everything has been said before here and instead of just stating the obvious, let me just put down
the questions i had asked of the salesman.

                        1. mileage ??

                        35kmph

                        2. ground clearance ??

good enough and can be taken in a pothole filled road.
also the absence of a center stand helps.

                        3. test rides ??

we were asked to write our names in a book so that they can sms us for the test ride. Should happen in a
weeks time. So any one looking for a ride, do it now.

                        4. booking amount ??

                        20000

                        5. ktm power parts ?

                        will take some time.

                        6. maintenance of bike ?

since parts are done in india should be less and affordable. But it will be much more compared to a spare
                        of any other bike.

Although the sales guy answered everything, there was an element of doubt in whatever they answer,
nothing was clear about delivery dates to the bike !!

One thing if i could criticize has to be the tank, it does feel large where it could have toned down . it seems
they have done it deliberately to make the bike look big.

so keeping the money inside the pockets until the test rides
I prefer riding a slow bike fast rather than a fast bike slow !!

                          5. ktm power parts ?

Mileage of 35 KmpL is also doubtful i guess. Being a sales person, they would always inflate the figures.
But i would so want it to be more than 30 atleast.

I believe its not the decision of the dealer whether to offer the bike or not. If its the probiking showroom, they have to make bike available for sale from there. Unless its the company decision not to sell it in Indore which i found illogical!
