Hmmm. I realised this later. I got confused with this ECU as I though ECU is only for Fi.Originally posted by payeng View PostProbably means the firing of each spark plug is according to programmed settings of the ECU depending on the conditions inside the combustion chamber.

I guess the word they were looking for was CDI. Wouldn't have caused this much confusion. Or maybe they are using something a bit more advanced than a CDI, a 32 bit 80386 will barely cost 200 bucks in this day and age, along with 16MB flash for the software and 2MB RAM, such a setup should have more than enough processing to successfully control ignition of 3 simple spark plugs and a Radiator fan relay.Originally posted by payeng View PostNot just on Fi but even carbureted bikes have a digitally (ECU) controlled firing sequence.Last edited by antz.bin; 02-21-2012, 09:48 PM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

went to osl bajaj, kolkata today for advance booking, the sales-person there demanded 1 lakh rupees for booking ,the amount is non refundable.i asked why such huge amount?even duke's booking is being done at 30000 rs.his answer was then buy duke.i freaked out and left the showroom.Last edited by sayank10; 02-22-2012, 12:32 AM.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Thanks dudeI guess ECU controlled firing is much more advanced. So, you get a computer which does some some quick calculations & does the firing.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI guess the word they were looking for was CDI. OT: Now, if they are already having ab ECU, wouldn't have been wise to get it Fi-ed too or it requires much more apparatus? I mean apart from ECU controlling the fuel inlet too."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

With no decalsOriginally posted by Dman View Posthere feast your eyes on the black beast
enjoy the pic...
and i hope the side black panels are present in the production version which were not there in the blue pulsar NS found previously. Just hope these are test models.
Also I don't think all carb bikes are controlled through ECUs. Only some of them.Whats there in a signature?

With the bike still not officially launched and available for sale, these obviously are test mules sans the covers/shrouds.Originally posted by Enthusiastic View PostWith no decals
