as long as p200 faired version is not launched i don't think 220 resale will hamper.220 has fair share of fans.Originally posted by raja_roadster View Postwill the resale price of p220 get affected by introduction of p200ns and ktm200and the question remains why do i race?

I am pretty sure those are [traffic police] sergeants, not surgeons.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostNitro.. Did you see the same model which DAMAN gave a picture of?(i.e) was the fairing one single colour instead of what we swa on the unveil pics???
And "the big mud guard".. I know its detachable. But can anyone please let me know whether it is a must as per traffic norms. I drive in kolkata, and the surgeons are always looking foe an excuse to give a case!!!!!

Why dont all you guys who are arguing about why the pulsar200ns does not cross 130kmph wait until a proper test of its performance figures are done with a Vbox ? Maybe the NS shows lesser speedo error than the 220. On a naked bike that is more powerful than its competitor but still clocks a lower top speed - the most obvious reason would be gearing amongst a few other things like the ignition , fueling and tuned exhaust length. And weight. Anyone who has a heavily tuned motorcycle will know how important these things are in determining acceleration and top speed numbers - and yes a fairing like that on the R15 certainly helps you clock higher top speeds.
Bajaj has been tight lipped about the gear ratios - but according to a very well informed article i read by OverDrive ( have they improved or what !! ) - they did say that the gearing on the NS is slightly different than the Duke. The gearing on the NS200 will give it better rolling acceleration figures than the Duke and that in turn will mean a compromise in top speed. I dont think top speed on these small bore bikes matter anyway - I mean how many times and for how long will you stay above 130kmph on these small unfaired bikes ? Acceleration ( Standing and Roll on ), Handling and improvements in cruising speed are the only things that matters in making it a quick & enjoyable city slicker - and yes the NS should be more fuel efficient than the Duke. ( 2 extra spark plugs !! :P )
If your still hell bent on chasing top speed figures you can always play with your final drive ratios ( Sprockets ) and spank that 220 and while you are at it, rob its projector light too
. Or you could forget all about the Pulsars and just go ahead and buy the new ZX14R... The 200ns motor is alot more advanced and efficient than the 220 so much so that after NS200, the 220s motor and chassis seems crude and ancient. The NS should also turn out to be a modders dream come true with all the parts that SEEM to be interchangable (Head Assembly!) from the Duke200 and bigger versions of the Duke200 that will soon follow with increments of 20cc in typical Bajaj Ishtyle.
The Indian Motorcycling Scene has changed and how ! In the span of a few years look at the amazing small bikes that we have today: R15, Duke200, Pulsar 200NS, CBR250R , Ninja250 & alot more to follow !! I remember a time not long ago when every new released bike was criticized for not having a mono-shock , rear disc and fatter rear tires ofcourse !! Today we have perimeter frames / delta box frames, discs on the front AND the back , radial tyres, mono - shocks, 4 valves per head, Liquid Cooled Motors, Fuel Injection and what not. we have gone from 1960's tech straight into the 21st century in the span of a few years and all of this change was brought about by the advent of an incredible 150cc bike called the Yamaha R15 which whopped every bike being manufactered here and it still is a solid contender. Heres to the better motorcycling times to come!
ps: I wonder if losing the exta plugs on the NS would help it shed some weight and hence let it reach a faster top speed....... :PLast edited by Vampire; 02-17-2012, 07:56 AM.

Wow u still believe that its theoretically possible ? Our automobile manufacturers need young talents like you. Have you applied in these firms by now?Originally posted by surya220 View PostDo you know the difference between THEORETICAL POSSIBILITY and PRACTICAL FITMENT..? Please understand my previous post and then enlighten others.. This isn't worth arguing, but just finally penned down my opinion because I know what I'm on about..

[QUOTE=aargee;773286]Err...and your point is
that the indicated speed on any bike will be more than the actual and will never be less than the actual speeds...
once i had checked P220 speeds..when the indicated speed was 100kmph it was showing 92 on my gps trackers...and the gap widens as u go up ..!!Cheers

Hi aargee.. Can you tell me if any holes are to be made on the frame of 200NS to attach a fairing, will it hamper its durability and strength.
P.S. i am not a rough rider, just want my ride to be very stylishsigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

Pretty sure it'll hamper the performance. If Bajaj could have launched a faired version first, they would have done it. No secret that a full fairing has its appeal in the Indian market.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostHi aargee.. Ask me on CBR or Rx, I can probably answer something close. Since I don't own I a P200NS, I do not know anything about it. Besides, do not do any modification on a stock bike until the warranty is over or without knowing the purpose.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostHi aargee..
