Yamaha, for example is playing around with the same 150 cc engine. Honda unicorn, regardless of the bike it is, isnt too popular. Suzuki with its absolutely limited marketing, and very limited dealer/service network is nowhere in the race. Bajaj, with this kind of lame competitors can cruise ahead without much effort.
I guess it's more about sister concern (read KTM) than competition, more precisely it's the way Bajaj wanted to play our market with Pulsar for masses as affordable performance bike & Duke as premium segment bike. With Bajaj competition was always assured of one thing and that's "headache"

    • Very good review.

I guess the brief ride at the test track may not have provided an opportunity, to strap on the test gear. If so, would like to know how the numbers fare against the Duke (as how the Duke was compared with other bikes in it's review)?

      Also,
      1) How is the bike's low-down grunt (between 2k and 6k rpm)?
      2) What is the rpm range in 6th gear, when the bike does 90 to 110 kmph?
      3) Were you able to observe engine-knock & snatch in higher gears at lower revs? Can it pull from 2k at 6th gear (as observed by some mags)?

      • The underslung exhaust means that fitting an aftermarket free flow exhaust is almost out of the question.

You do have free flow (and slip ons if you meant that) for underslung exhausts!

yup, being underslung it sure will have issues with fitting a aftermarket free flow and going by the current looks of the bike, free flow will spoil the naked look for sure.

Its not an official booking for 200NS, but for Avenger for time being. The moment booking opens for 200NS they will change it to respective one. This is what the sales executive told me. And that too for 1K i didn't even think twice.
i will call them and inquire if there is any news of booking.

According to Old Fox Sir there was a heavy head on wind on at that track that day.

The mags have anyway reported to have seen a top speed of around 137-141 kmph on that bike.

Why didn't they run the track in the opposite direction ? Would have been easier to touch top speed that way
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Nice idea.. that way with the extra help of the wind behind the bike/rider, the console would have displayed inflated speeds..!!

                          • And those are new bikes. Engine needs to run at least 1K for real performance.

In the video you can notice that the track(straight-line one) actually moves either ways. At one section it hits 130-131km/hr whereas in the opposite one adjacent to that very same stretch it struggles to go over 125km/hr.

                              Case solved!!

                              • Moreover I have my doubts on how much the rider in the video (Sirish Chrandran) was able to tuck in due to the on board camera.
