@crankpin - i have ridden both the CBZ classic and the pulsar series extensively and was satisfied with both (though more comfortable on the cbz)
    The argument continues...
Before I say anything let me state that i love the old cbz. The difference between pulsar and cbz is pulsar captured public's imagination and in time became synonimus with powerful bike. Cbz in my opnion was killed by hero's stratagy itself of never offerening a propper upgrade for it.

The biggest contribution of pulsars in my opinion is they have standardised things like disc brakes, digital consoles, alloys, digital ignition, leds and so on. As far as quality is considered, yes, they are crude compared to other jap clones. But they have improved immensely from 180cl to the ns. I hope one day they can shed the fear of our general rider mass of "powerful bikes" created by 100cc 4t bikes.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS: Long Term Test Review

hello all, I'm from Indonesia. and early of this month, the Pulsar 200NS is finally on sale here (phew finally....)

but they didn't sold by BAJAJ INDONESIA, but the KAWASAKI is taking over. i guess the delay for about 6 months is because the merger between Kawasaki and Bajaj is tough. but the old pulsar still handled by the Bajaj. And there's bad news too, Bajaj Indonesia is go bankrupt!!! so all of the mechanics are fired, and we (the old pulsar owner) are concerned about the after-sales service and spare part problems. and the dealers were closed (most of them).

anyway, the 200NS here is named "KAWASAKI BAJAJ 200NS" the bike is sold by kawasaki, spare part and service can be done at kawasaki. they do some "fix" to the bike, like the welding, the paint job, erasing rear mud guard (which i love because it like the BMW GS), and some other things.

oyeah, the price is Rp. 23.300.000, or about 141.466 rupee

    this is the pictures :

anyway is there a dyno test for the 200NS in India? i would like to know the result

sorry for the bad english and thank you

Pulsar 200NS does tend to vibrate a bit at high revvs...

I only read this review today, and I have to say MG, you can make a man think twice! I almost regretted not buying the 200NS after I read through this review. Hats off to how much attention to detail you have put into this. Hope some day I can write like you can!

Awesome picture but one thing i need to clarify that while write now i have pulsar 220 & my brother brought pulsar 200 Ns. but while we are in long trip near about 200 km i found myself more comfortable in 220 than 200 in riding condition. my height is 6"1, so while riding 200 for long time i feel some pain in shoulder, why is it? Is it for long height?

Pulsars evolved and as they moved ahead, they had new competitors... Unicorn, Apache et al. Pulsars evolved and superseded competition in lot of areas.

Pulsars further evolved and got competition from Yamaha and Suzuki. There also Pulsars managed to gain vote and people's heart.

And We have now significantly more number of Pulsar fans in India than Any other bike ever existed. Yes competition did beat pulsars in several areas.

Come 2012, and Pulsars are again ahead of the pack. 10 years back people compared Pulsars with some Indian products... today Pulsar is being compared with Indian Track King bike - R15 and Honda CBR. Some of the iconic products in world.

In my 10 years of biking I have never seen a single brand being compared to so many products in Indian market. And thats something amazing.

Analogy is.. Every smartphone is compared with Apple Iphone

Comparison has Evolved... Pulsar has evolved. And this is a Vicious Circle.

World is the Stage.. Bajaj .... go go go..
Beautiful prose mate..a good appraisal for Brand Pulsar...
