Got the screenshot from Team-BhpOriginally posted by NitinGirish View PostForgot to update this last evening.
Finance is available and the minmum downpayment is ~37k (close to 38k). For one year it is 9.5% simple interest.
Test rides to be offered from 30th.
but the interest is coming to be more than 9.5% if you calculate around 13% maybe...
That's surprising - A bigger motor needing less oil . I think it would certainly depend on the rider.Originally posted by prasenjit220 View PostThe DUKE 390 is a very frugal bike

Yup, saw that screenshot on team-bhp this morning. What was told (nothing in writing) in BTM KTM though is different. For 1.5L loan amount EMI was Rs.13687 which when worked out comes to 9.5%.Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View Post
Infact I asked her to show me the calculation. Its just 9.5% simple interest on loan amount.

Why did the workers go on strike now??? Test bikes dispatch is delayed because of this. Damn it!! Spoke to KTM Navi Mumbai and for 1 lac DP and the rest loan the following was told to me
1,09,500 DP leads to INR 9310 EMI for 12 Months @9.5%
1,09,500 DP leads to INR 5186 EMI for 24 Months @10.99%
What he said was the only cheaper options would be to go for a loan from a nationalized bank. If anyone knows some bank employee who can approve a loan for a lesser interest rate then please share the info.
@Sachinnair - What about Insurance. I think you spoke about some zero depriciation policy. What is that and is it applicable to the D390.Last edited by JayD; 06-28-2013, 05:53 PM.Just flick the switch and twist my wrist

Mileage figures will not be that high as expected by youOriginally posted by splus View PostI'm pretty sure D390 will have a BETTER mileage than D200 on highway at speeds of 110 kmh and higher.
Right now my D200 does 40 kmpl at constant 100 kmpl, but only 28 kmpl at constant 130 kmh which is near redline.

I guess those 43 horses need to drink little more...
Well, I don't really care about mileage, but plenty of people do.
OK, D390 won't do 40 kmpl at 100 kmh, but I'll be VERY surprised if the mileage isn't better than D200's 28 kmpl at 130 kmh! That's redline mileage for D200, and at that speed D390 should be running quite relaxed at only around 6.5k rpm.

Yes, It will be applicable to any new vehicle for that matter. You can opt for zero depreciation insurance only for first 3 years of your vehicle. Usually insurance companies do not offer zero dep for vehicles more than 3 years old. Zero Dep ensures that in case of accident you will receive the full claim without any deduction on the value of parts getting replaced, in short it means 100% cover. Be it replacing fibre parts, rubber, plastic, or any thing else you will get full claim. Normal insurance depreciates from 0% to 40% usually but Zero Dep gives you complete peace of mind by giving 100% re imbursement. The premium is slightly higher than the normal insurance though.Originally posted by JayD View Post@Sachinnair - What about Insurance. I think you spoke about some zero depriciation policy. It costed me 2,800 INR more choosing Zero Dep insurance on N650. So for Duke I believe it should cost 800 - 1000 INR extra than normal insurance.

Called up Canara Bank call center. They charge 13.5% on reducing balance basis. I did the math and the total interest saved is close to 7k on a 1.5L loan.Only cheaper options would be to go for a loan from a nationalized bank. But here's the translated link for you:
It's automatic translation so don't expect much, but I can see it's quite favorable. Basically saying KTM really nailed it, they made what bike enthusiasts have been asking since forever but no one made it until now.Last edited by splus; 06-29-2013, 01:49 AM.

Sachinnair - Thanks for the detailed info. I will go ahead and get the Zero depreciation policy. Is it provided directly by the KTM / Kawasaki dealership or have to directly contact Insurance Co's??Originally posted by Sachinnair View PostYes, It will be applicable to any new vehicle for that matter. Please elaborate the '13.5% on reducing balance basis' for 1.5L loan. I am a layman & I get dyslexic on seeing mathematical figures & numbers.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostCalled up Canara Bank call center. They charge 13.5% on reducing balance basis. Always remember, Finance company will show you less interest rate and still charge you more EMI whereas Nationalized banks may show you higher interest rate but you end up with a smaller + more convenient EMI with no hidden charges. Choose wisely.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostPlease elaborate the '13.5% on reducing balance basis' for 1.5L loan. I am a layman & I get dyslexic on seeing mathematical figures & numbers.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
