Seems like everybody has forgotten about orange-or-black wheels thing. In the launch Mr.Bajaj unveiled the one with orange so that looks like the standard. Not that I am complaining. @1.8lacs is ex-mumbai, in Hyderabad it should be 1.9 is what KTM Banjarahills says. At that price I'll take pink spots on yellow wheels.

yes I noticed this too. It was supposed to be 150 kg with fuel. Strange. Maybe the weight of one or more components has gone up.Originally posted by glider99 View Posthi,
did anyone notice that the kerb weight has gone up?
on the ktm website it is still mentioned as 139 kg, while during the launch they talked about 145kg?

i thought about it again, maybe crash guard, tyre hugger etc. are some extra weight, which is not there in the international model.Originally posted by 500modder View Postyes I noticed this too. It was supposed to be 150 kg with fuel. Strange. Maybe the weight of one or more components has gone up.

Addition of Crash guard & saree guard maybe. Is that orange crash(genuine ktm accessory) guard coming here?Originally posted by 500modder View Postyes I noticed this too. It was supposed to be 150 kg with fuel. Strange. Maybe the weight of one or more components has gone up.

Brothers. Spoke to some one from KTM navi Mumbai. 390 at 2.05 L on road. 1 Display bike available. Test bike to be made available in a few weeks.Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist

Me thinks the weight increase of ~6 kg & slight power decrease of 0.5 bhp has been done to help KTM DUKE 390 to adhere to the EU A2 license.Originally posted by glider99 View Posthi,

on the ktm website it is still mentioned as: Weight without fuel approx. 139 kg, while during the launch they talked about 145kg?

You can detune the power but you can't increase the weight just like that. I think the weight must had been wrongly reported during the presentation...Originally posted by prasenjit220 View PostMe thinks the weight increase of ~6 kg & slight power decrease of 0.5 bhp has been done to help KTM DUKE 390 to adhere to the EU A2 license.

Oops, you're right, I stand corrected - there IS a way to increase the weight - it's the saree guard a tire hugger.
BUT, I've never seen a Duke with saree guard, everyone takes that off.
Also, I found that tire hugger makes the bike even dirtier because all the mud bounces off the hugger and goes into the upper and central part of the bike.
I took it both out the first day, so that's 6 kg less.
But the tank capacity is a mastery...
Maybe D390 needs a better fuel than what we have, could it be they added some special filter or something into the tank? I'm not an expert, but 0.8 liters less capacity sounds like there's something else in the tank that's occupying that much volume...
And re power - it could have easily happened that the previous power figure was a pre-release figure and that they now detuned the power for both international and Indian version.
If you go to KTM international website you'll see that the power now says 43 HP (which is 43.5 PS). It used to be 44 HP...
They obviously detuned it.
I'm looking forward for Kiirus and Race Dynamics to jump into the game and release their ECU remap with some 50 HP...

don't forget the engine guard bars, they are not existing in the international version.
could it be that due to the different engine from d200 to d390 the head became bigger and they had to reduce the size of the tank?Originally posted by splus View PostBut the tank capacity is a mastery...

i am not technically very sound, but that could be an option....

One of the reasons i hate bangalore!!Indicative OTR price in Major Cities.
Delhi - Rs.199,949
Mumbai - Rs. 203,643
Bangalore - Rs. 211,841
Chennai- Rs.203,902
Hyderabad -Rs.205,523
Pune- Rs.198,046
Most expensive OTR prices and very bad roads. (other being petrol price)
Actually bangalore is 212141 OTR.
Booked one today!!
