  • Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions

I have booked Apache 200 4v carb, pirelli tyres, matt red color 2 months back. But Dealer(Jayanagar Bangalore) told me that they have not received any red color variant with Pirelli tyres.
Now I am frustrated, so thinking of cancelling and wait for EFI model itself. What you say guys is it worth to wait for EFI engine? How long it may take?
Dealers here doesn't have any clue what so ever about bike production and delivery dates ! So can't trust them anymore

^^It is a custom modification not by TVS.
Let them first launch full version here then we can dream about faired versions.

Hey friends, those who own the bike can you please help me with few facts which I am unable to get any answers.

                  1. How is the top end of the bike? Considering it has 5speed gearbox, does it feel really stressed when cruising at 100kmph? Is there any vibrations and also at what rpm does the engine spin at 100kmph?

                  2. Are the seats really comfortable or firm for both rider and pillion.

                  3. Is it really eye catching when commuting within the city limits? Also any comments on exhaust note? I found it quite meaty and a nice growl with it.

I just dropped by at the TVS Showroom to see the Apache 200. Went in an looked around. No one around to show the bike. There was one SE but she was busy delivering a Jupiter. After she finished she asked me what I wanted. When I said Apache 200, she said "Have a seat, I'll give you the quotation". I said I need a Test Ride. She said "OK. Give me your licence. Bike is parked outside. Take it". I asked who is accompanying me. She said "No problem you can ride alone. Probably because I came in riding a Duke 390 wearing riding gear. Key was missing so I had to come in again to get it.
The bike was nice. Fit and finish good. Comfortable and smooth to ride but quite underpowered. It appeared to be suffocating. Overall a bit disappointing. I asked about the ABS and EFI versions and they said it will be at least 6 months before launch. Pirelli tyres option was however available at Rs.5000/- extra. They had stock of Matte Grey, White and Black and were ready to give immediate delivery.

Exactly, its quite underpowered. I have a ns200 , the power is too linearly spread in Apache 200. It lacks the punch ns200 have. But The suspension is too good . Felt it on soft side . Braking is good . Engine is too lazy to pickup rpm. Overall , its a good bike but no 200cc feel .

1.Run in period so did not test top end
2.Seats are comfortable but pillion seat is slightly slippery
                        3.Eye candy

I did not feel vibrations as of now.

Finished 3800 km on my RTR.. Yest itself travelled 300 km...
At speeds of 100 the bike feels at ease, no stress on d engine but as u try pushing forward it'll take some time to accelerate..
Reached top speed of 129 yest on NH4...
Didn't notice d RPM exactly but it was varying between 6500 to 7500
Seats r really comfortable... U'l not feel back pain at all even after continuous riding
Trust me it's truly eye-catching... And specially in my case as the showroom in my town doesn't have the bike.. I bought it from Bangalore so everywhere ppl ask me bout price mileage power etc etc 😁😁😁

                                At what speed?
