If you had said that about centre stand, it would have been easier to understand. Offset fuel lid good for touring! In what sense? Can you please elaborate.Originally posted by SIDDHARTH SINGH View Post

Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions
Based on the initial ride, is the suspension setup on RTR200 softer/comfortable when compared to NS200/AS200/RS200?
3 months of wait is agonizing. I will not be surprised if people start looking elsewhere meanwhile.Originally posted by Harideep View Post3 months to buy after it get launch!!!

RIDE HARD RIDE SAFEEvery first ride review says its more of a commuter and wouldn't do good on highways(not that the RTR 180 was capable but at least it was a track tool). Its kinda shame to the RTR badge. They shouldnt have named it as Apache in the first place.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI presume he meant re-fueling with tank bag on would be less painful. Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions
Frankly speaking I am not too impressed with the design. Front looks like someone has squashed the headlight assembly more deeper towards the handlebars and the rear looks like being chopped. I would have still loved the RTR's just the way they are. The naked versions just doesn't seem to suit the bike. Again perceptions differ. I am interested to know how the engine performs. Has tvs negated the vibes completely? Four valve is a definite welcome with oil cooling. Again 12 litre tank is disappointing. The old RTR's had 16 litre capacity. Wish they had atleast retained the same.
Again when can we expect a twin cylinder from Indian manufacturers. I for sure will not be satisfied with a single cylinder engines anymore after 10 years of riding them. Yet we still have to be content with an engine which doesn't go anywhere closer to the expectations many of us hold deep down inside. A good effort is all I can say. Hope they for once think of staying ahead in the game.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions
I don't know why, but tvs claims much lesser top speed and acceleration figures than their bikes really do. The top gear seems to have no limiter and it can be seen here. The bike probably does 150+ easily.

I guess, with start of association with BMW, they are acknowledging by going Asymmetric in some thing- that would be the Fuel lid placement.Originally posted by SIDDHARTH SINGH View PostYes.the position of the fuel lid makes it easier to fill in petrol.and I think that they have done so to attract a person interested in touring.

Well, it could definitely help tourers, but not by much( The plastic tank wont hold magnetic Tankbags. Straps has to run down under the tank. You still have to open it. Hence its of not much use.) To me, its just a design language.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions
I may sound a bit discouraging but this is what I think:
Its going to be a decent bike, no question on that
However i have a lot of questions:
Why is it having a double down tube frame in 2016? (I think its not twin spar from photos)
Its still air-cooled?
Its not too light compared competition at least on paper
is 20 HP exciting for a such delayed update?
What value this bike brings onto table compared to an years old 200NS? Whats new?
I cant understand, how ABS, FI or Pirelli tires are becoming a special tech or new in the segment!
Is this all TVS can muster after all this time?
Why is these Journos so excited about this product in 2016? is it because of the design or something else?
Will this approach of being excessively happy about small changes benefit the motorcycling community?
Are you bikers generally happy with the pace at which motorcycle tech is progressing in India?
--------
Generally I am disappointed with the advancement pace of Indian manufacturers. Had a lot of expectations from TVS, Bajaj and Hero.Last edited by kochumvk; 01-21-2016, 01:44 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR200 4V: First Impressions
I always found red to be the best color for an Apache. Also liked Orange of the previous FI. After red, I always loved grey. RTR has been my favorite since it was launched. From day 1, I used to feel it a notch above others in terms of fit & finish and quality.
