Re: Crazy comments u heard about bikes
One day I was at my trusted mechanics shop and then a guy came with his P220 and asked the mechanic that his bike is not touching a topspeed of 160kmph which it used to cross earlier. Then with curiosity I asked him about how he manages that much speed then the guy replied that with a pillion this speed can be achieved but without pillion never attempt that as at that speed the bike may leave the road.

Add the following pointers too:Originally posted by shriomman View Post"rs200 hits 158 kmph if the bike is run in properly" 🤣

Q: I think my bike's timing chain has gone bust. It's making noises.
A: Hey bro, use Motul chain lube!

Q: Why is my bike not able to hit 100 kmph in xyz seconds as it used to do earlier?
A: You need to plonk in NGK Iridium plugs, K&N performance filters and Shell premium petrol. Then your bike will touch 160+ macha!
Q: But mine is a 150cc Hero Honda
A: Arrey, just do the above. You'll call me daddy tomorrow.

Re: Crazy comments u heard about bikes
I bought NS around Sep-2012 (recently launched) and used to get numerous comments on the underbelly exhaust. One of the guy was telling his pillion rider that, this is a new technology where there is no need of exhaust 😂😂

Re: Crazy comments u heard about bikes
I was once waiting for the signal to turn green. I was riding my 600i back then and a guys pulls to my side and asks me what are those 4 pipes doing near the engine (I was glad he recognized the engine atleast). I replied him saying those were silencers and this is a 4 cylinder engine. He asked if all the pipes work or are they for show case.
I pointed to his bike exhaust pipe and asked him where is the smoke I cant see and you confirm whether yours is working or not and sped away from the scene.
Similar instance where people point at the frame sliders and asks me whether it is to rest your foot. Feeling pity, I told them it is to protect the exposed frame of the bike so that bike does not get damaged when it tips over. He then replies sheepishly why dont you fit them everywhere and you will need it since all parts are exposed and laughs at me,

Re: Crazy comments u heard about bikes
Interesting and very entertaining thread. From my end I have 2 funny instances.
First one the rumour mills which run as to why the Yamaha RX 100 was banned. Thats right as per many people, the bike's production was not stopped but it was banned by the Government because thieves used to use the bike to loot people/banks etc and get away on these bikes. These bikes were so fast that once the goons got astride these bikes, cops didnt even bother chasing them because they could never catch up!
I kid you now if I have a penny for each time I heard this story, I would be a millionaire! I know that the bike was nimble and had acceleration which would shame even today's bikes but the fact that someone would say the government stepped in (and not the emission norms) to ban the bike is very far fetched. Anyone else heard this one?
Second, when I had purchased the NS 200 4 years ago, people used to ask me where the silencer is. Once a middle aged man asked me whether I had it removed for the look! I patiently showed everyone the outlet pipe each time someone asked me.

Re: Crazy comments u heard about bikes
OK I am going to paste stuff that I had written a long time ago on my Facebook page. Here goes (hopefully will resurrect this thread and not let it die an unhappy death - simply because this thread is too funny
)
A) I was riding with my headlights on since the visibility was low. 1.2 million people made the famous 'squeezing orange juice' motion with their hands!
Why can't they do the same when idiots don't use headlights even at night??
B) The problem with riding my bike with full gear and helmet with a dark visor, on a hot day like today is - all the aunties walking on the road think I am out to steal their mangalsutra/thaali/gold chain!
C) Ok so I saw the movie Batman vs Superman and didn't understand why the batmobile had an indicator!! I was then 100% sure batman is from Bengaluru. The indicator is only for show... Get it get it??
D) Today, I will tell about the most feared and dream two-wheeler on Bengaluru's roads - The Activa/Scooty/Ray-Z etc
I will list out the amazing features this bike is blessed with and why so many choose to ride it in the first place...
1) Amazing bootspace - yes! you heard it right, you can keep a helmet and not worry about someone stealing it (see pt 6 - later)
2) Amazing combi brakes - A fancy name for both brake cables being joined together. So in effect it gives the stopping power of a F1 car. Shame on you Mr Mallya. You had the answer in front of you
3) 890 degree wide mirrors - Don't worry its never on the bike anyway. They probably use it to watch DDLJ at home
4) Plush suspension - with that long suspension travel and superb ultra large tyres, the ride over even Martian craters is so smooth. Your back will thank you when you are 40
5) Medieval age Maiming Device - Have you seen the chariot scene from the movie 'The Gladiator'? Where the fighters legs get cut off by the blade on the wheel hub? Yep that's already there on these bikes. What's even better, the pillion can ALSO use it to rest his legs
:P
6) Helmet - These riders are so hardcore, they don't even need a helmet. When you can go from 0 to 60 in less than 0.3 Milli seconds, who needs a helmet? Wait! some of them do wear the awesomest 'XXX' and 'Roshan' helmets which barely protect their super awesome hairstyle
:P
7) Acceleration - these bikes accelerate so violently that they reach 60 in 0.3 Milli seconds (Faster than a missile. also, see pt 6) and then to reach 70 they need another hour. So at every stop sign, all they want to do is be hardcore (see pt 6 again) and race to the next stop sign and look at your bike and say - did you see that, you moron?!

HiOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostTo be frank, I did not know about it myself. I presume that you're referring to the tax paid challan. I always knew that once your (updated/new) RC gets delivered, you need not carry the challan anymore.
.
Even I used to think that driving license, PUC and RC are enough when I had scooty. But just before I bought my bike, I went through all RTO policies to keep things hassle free when riding. So regardless whether Police asks or not, I keep it and recommend and encourage others to do the same.

un/fortunately for me, when i saw the ninja 300 for the first time almost a year before its india launch, it was love at first sight. the intention was never to patao girls, but i did realize after i got her, that girls are attracted to shiny things, and my lime green beauty is definitely VERY shiny
