^^i'm pretty sure it was just some woman...but all these ghost stories had messed up our heads so bad that we were expecting her to be a ghost

Totally agree that triples riding aint safe....this was a long long time ago.....when i wasnt introduced to safe riding......now as far as possible i avoid having any pillion whatsoever....
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

Yeah...I had a ride through satyamangalam forests around 10PM in heavy rain. Gawd..it was scary. Not because of Veerappan's ghost but the silence and the sound of the breezes through the tree along with the darkness. I stopped once in between for a smoke...it was both scary n exciting .

That is because, mostly robbers will be acting so. You stop, get down and check what happened. Surprise! Surprise!

^^true. Robbers and thugs try to pull off all types of scams possible.

One of the most haunted roads in mumbai is the aarey milk colony road:

              Background:
For many of us know that Aarey milk colony road which is now in the worst of conditions closes before 12 and only reopens early in the morning nearly at 5 am. There were many incidents on this road of people being looted and killed by local thugs as well as some adivasi people staying in there. If i remember correctly they found some dead bodies hanging from trees very close to the toll from goregaon- east side after which the decision was taken to not keep the road functional during night times. There are few street lights on the road out of which most dont function.
The road leads to Powai as well as Marol and has another inside lane that goes through the New Zealand hostel. The hostel was build for stundents who came down to study agricultureas there is a college for the same near by. This road to new Zealand hostel runs paralled and unwinds inside to go to the marol road.

              Recent Incident;
An office colleague driving in his Safari at 11:15 pm who usually takes a detour on the aarey road to travel from the new zealand hostel road.
post crossing the NZ hostel he started to hear weird knocking noise coming from his car, it felt more of some one knocking the door of the safari rather than something wrong within the car. While the noise never stopped coming my friend never stopped the car and was trying hard to listen where can the noise possibly be coming from. In the midst of all this one small look in the rvm and he was shit scare. He saw a shape formed in the rear seat of the car which looked like a person but could not tell a male or female, he was so sure about it because it looked pretty clear with the black interior the glowing white figure. There was no car running behind whose light could have possibly created this. The noise continued to come but my friend never had the guts to either see in the rvm again or stop the car, and for the knocking noise it stopped after he reached the goregaon check naka signal. Strange but true.

              5 years back:
A good friend's brother in law travelling from the same road (around 9 pm), he had a mitsubishi lancer then and had a driver who was driving through aarey, while closing in on a junction on the aarey road where it divides towards marol and powai a lady cossing the road stopped in the middle and moved towards the side of the road asking for a lift. the driver and my friends brother in law were never able to see the face of the lady. He instructed his driver not to stop and thas what exactly the driver did. he never stopped, but none of the two could see a face of the lady and as the car passed with all the mirrors rolled up and passing the lady from a fair bit of distance the brother-in-law felt a slap on his shoulder and he did yell out of pain. He never travels from aarey now. Strange but true.

From my experience, its just how you mind plays games... i am not saying that i am a non believer or that ghosts doesn't exists but i have never seen one. I have traveled mostly in car during the nights in Ghats sections mostly and have experienced such hallucinations... this is what your mind thinks.. there was a documentary long back in Discovery channel wherein they explained how people tend to have such thoughts build up in their mind if they are alone in a dark room or a place.. the quietness or weird sounds makes you feel that someone is around or following you... you can even try this yourself.. and you will know what i mean...

In my opinion, they don exists... :-)

May be this sounds unreal but I will share my own experirence.

Some 8years back when I am at my native place Machilipatnam in Costal Andhra, on the road between Vijayawada to Machilipatnam. Once when I was travelling back to my place along with my friend around 1.00am in the morning, I saw someone crossing the road from a distance and I suddenly braked, my friend asked me why I braked so suddenly, I told about some farmer crossing the road, he who is also looking at the road over my shoulder said he didn't see anyone, only after a minute we doubted it might be some paranormal creature freaked out and not even looked back till we reached home.

Both me and my friend are fully alert at that time and none of us could have imagined something, still I might have been mistaken!
All the wise men of the world are called wise only after they spoke their mind, so dont keep the ideas to yourselves!

Let me share my experience on this,

While on a Tour to my native place, deep inside Tamil Nadu, I was riding my R15 all alone at around 70-80 Kays casually. Not an Highway exactly, it was a 50 Ft road which runs parallel and right next to river Cauvery. Connecting two major towns.

Totally deserted, not even a light seen far away, If I turn my head lights off, then its exactly same like closing my two eyes.

The entire road sides were filled with Green, felt as though I was riding through a forest.

Finally reached the road passage which was often claimed to be haunted. Heard a lot about the Haunting and accidents happened in that 3Kms road stretch from my Grandma.

It was approximately around 12AM in the midnight, was partially cold but was the same throughout the ride before the stretch, but I certainly felt Extremely cold (Shivering even with a branded Jerkin) for about 20-30 secs within that stretch.

I was able to see water droplets on the wind shield and my helmet glass, like passing through a Mist. But nothing visible through, Like we used to see in hilly areas. But to my curiosity the entire 35kms strech was filled with trees, very closely packed. Not sure how that particular place has temperature well below say 5 degrees and the rest were say over 25 Degrees.

As soon as reached about half the distance into the stretch I started to feel someone is watching me, But the RVMs were just black except for a little red shade from my Tail light. so planned to take a U-turn and go back, but it was too late, the moment I was in the heights of taking a decision, I gradually slowed down to 40-50 kays, and a long white rope, Should be about 5Cms in diameter and 10 Meters in length, fell off from a Banyan tree which was just a few yards ahead of me.

The rope was about 2meters above my head, which I can pass without touching. Since I was on Highbeam, the inner part of the tree was visible to an extent. The next moment, I wanted to know if there is someone on the tree doing this trick, I had about 2-3 Secs to pass the Tree after the rope fell down, so my eyes were so keen to see whats on the tree, amazingly there was nothing on the tree and I was able to see the clear sky through the tree. I would say there wasn't any space there to manually do this. (The tree itself was very old and abundant of leaves and branches)

I am very much sure it was a coincidence or someone behind this trying to scare people away.

But whatever it is, it scared me to death. Trust me guys , At that moment I got a feeling, which I had never felt before, Not sure how to describe it, some strange impulse started at my Spine and busted into my hearts, like an electric shock and with that freezing temperature, for a second I thought I was dead.

The moment I passed the rope, shifted a couple of gears down and zoomed away in triple digits.
