Aarey Colony IS haunted

Hi, I'd made this account several months ago to post in this thread, which I found while researching "aarey colony haunted" but the account was pending moderator approval. So anyway here I am again and I just can't forget this incident.

I saw three apparitions in the first week of January (2012) at Aarey Colony. I did not know at the time of seeing these "ghosts" that the place had such a reputation.

It was about 2AM at night and I was en-route to a party with 2 friends when we stopped the car to take a leak on the side of the road, which as you may know is quite a socially acceptable practice here in India.

I saw three of them, two females and one guy and instantly knew that they were not real. The facial expression on one of the female's face was horrible, I've never seen anything uglier or as scary. The male was just staring up into the sky and almost frozen there. I was so afraid that I immediately started running back to the car, without having peed and the female with the nasty facial expression followed me and the creepiest part was that she wasn't moving. She was just floating behind me.

Neither of my two friends, who were peeing just a few feet away saw anything and they laughed at and ridiculed me and when I insisted basically told me that the joke was getting old or that I should get mental help.

The male had dark brown skin, a balding head, round face, short maybe 5"4 and stout with a belly, he was wearing a white shirt.

Female #1 with the scary face was fair/pale in the way people in North India and Pakistan are, of average height, ~5"10, well built (not fat) wearing a blue sari and golden bangles.

Female #2 was also pale skinned, with wavy hair and was wearing a white dress.

It's scary to even write this stuff out, I can't explain why the fear was so overpowering.

I was totally sober at the time. I had had two pints of beer with food about an hour prior to the incident, but that does nothing at all to me. I need half a bottle of whiskey to even start feeling buzzed. No marijuana or hallucinogens of any kind either.

I consider myself to be a complete rationalist and have no religious beliefs of any kind. If anyone had told me such a story before I experienced this, I would not have believed them. But now that I have, it opens up a lot of possibilities and questions...

I did extensive research about Aarey colony & "spirit"/ghosts online and offline after this. Those who have had similar experiences were the most sympathetic and helpful.

I can make another thread about my research on ghosts; completely neutral & objective perspective. But I have found for a fact (news reports online+ offline which anyone can look up and verify the facts) that there were at least 25 murders or accidental deaths (8 drownings), and many accident cases in this stretch of road. I started cross-checking the dates of the deaths with the Vedic calendar/panchangam and ~80% of them are on days of "New Moon" a.k.a Amavasya.

let me begin by clarifying a few things first,

Ghost and dacoits are two different personas.

More dacoits/km/highway/stateway/village road etc than Ghosts.

In my limited experience with life, its not the ghosts that one must be worried about!


As any normal child, I too was fascinated by Ghosts on the road ( well, its a bonus to see a ghost on wheels ).

A few of the 'stories', Ive heard of as a kid,

1. at some X km from what is now called as Kolkatta down that road that connects chennai, there seems to be a blind corner where many lives were lost, ( including the hero, a Sargent on a bike) lonely folks usually face a very bright blinding light ( something like 100* Hellas + 1000 * Lighforce + infinity HIDs), forces the driver to stop, and then they hear the beat of a fast bullet and the Sargent riding past em, and once hez crossed them they hear the voice, that says, "drive carefully".

I was like WOW man, (4th std).
A little later I had doubts , what language? A bullet? speeding one at that, and echo effect?

2. for about 6 years, out house was located on top of a hill, 4 hairpin bends, through dense foliage and century old trees. The trees and foliage was so dense that even on a sunny day, light wouldn't trickle down to that private road. ( Its become a potato farm now ). Being the dispensable, I was usually left behind, I would have to pedal to another hill to my friends house for dinner and ride back through the darkness to face our eerier hill! Nothing showed up, eventually I had to take care of my care takers!

Here is my take,

do not trust strangers, be extra cautious when you have family with you, Humans are more dangerous than fictional ghosts.

Some really scary stories in here. I believe that there are good and bad energies and forces, I haven't come across any such explicitly scary instances but I agree to what vjith has posted below.

It has got a lot to do with your mind. I have been to a few places alone at night, mainly to ride out alone and enjoy the landscapes at night, its just more beautiful. there have been moments where my mind started playing games on me, i started hearing and feeling strange things. But un(fortunately) havent come across anything un(real).

Shouldnt this thread be closed between 9pm and 6am??
