Long Post
First instance was when one of my friends went there with his college mates at night for adventure and adrenalin rush. The mis happening started when they started from jaipur on 3 bikes. On way one bike lost its rear number plate, one bike's fuse blown and one bike's kick start fell even though its just 80kms one way and they all were riding sanely, still these things happened.
Second instance when I , my gf, 2 other friends decided to go for the same adrenalin rush, I was apprehensive of taking my gf at that time but she insisted and I as a loyal bf agreed on a condition that my frnds will ask others to join and if any other girl agrees then I will take her. 3 more people agreed (a guy, 2 girls-on 1 bike). In total 7 people and 3 bikes were set to go there. On way we took a meal break where the bike's key went into the key hole but was not turning to switch on the ignition, the handle was unlocked though. We tried for 1 hour there but to no success, then I started it using the wire "jugaad", typical filmy style and started again.
For bhangarh we need to leave the highway and take left turn through the secluded villages for the fort and as last time my friend stayed at a temple nearby we thought of doing the same. It was pitch dark , not even the moon was there. We reached around 1am at the fort gate and we knew that it was prohibited to go there after sunset. I had a feeling that something is not wrong so we decided to leave. We rode just 1-2kms police came and asked us to follow them, the 3 people on the 3rd bike ran away which made the police think that we were there for wrong reasons. We 3 guys and my gf were with police officials till 3.30, all of them were drunk and obviously with a girl , I was afraid for her. Somehow after the mental-torture we were asked to leave after paying them 2000INR at 3.30am, only we 4 know how it was there and what we have gone through for those two and a half hours. We took our bikes and left, my gf and I decided not to go back there in our lifetime again.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

quite an experience.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Yeah, me too use the same highway almost every midnight on weekdays. The road feels just as good as any highway. But the highway isnt the same if you get off your vehicle at midnights, especially the area after Porur bridge towards TBM.
Just to your attention the murder/missing/theft cases in Porur Suburban PS has gone over 255 in just 2012, all happened only in this Highway. One of my friend has lost his bike and one of our office Cab drivers lost his Indicab while trying to help someone one the road who wanted a lift. Both were kind of gentle in character hence they were left without any harm.
Also many others are getting attracted to those pros centers available right at the highway and lose their belongings. But still there are 1000's like you and me passing through without any knowledge on this

thanks for the heads up. I mostly travel in car and some time in bike. There was a situation when I was asked help by a handicap man on his hand ridden cycle. I stopped and got down to ask whats the issue. He told me that his cycles front tire is puncher and he need help. By that time i saw cell phone vibrating in his shirt front pocket (must be a incoming call). I told nothing and just left the place smelling something fishy. till date I never stopped there again.Originally posted by HarishK View PostYeah, me too use the same highway almost every midnight on weekdays. Well, some times before in 2009, I visited Siddhpur, a town known for the afterdeath Pooja in Gujarat. Whe I was coming back from there on my friend's bike I saw a very old age lady stood with a bunch of grass on the roadside and asking for the lift. Actually I never give lift to any unknown person but that time I got some feeling for that lady and I decided to give her a lift after crossed the point where she stood...After some 10-15 meters I stopped my bike and turn around to see and call her but WTF, she was not there. The roadside was also very clear and there are no bushes there too...I felt my ass was flicking...I literally rush from there and till today I never go to that place from the same way...

the scariest experience I had on road must have been a late night visit to mehsana from vadodara, to visit an oil well which had caught fire ( they are spectacular btw).
me and dad were in a amby (ONGC) in hard rain , when the driver turned right skidded and hit a buffallo on the road side. smashimg the windshield in the bargain.
apparently some guys chopped head was kept in the middle of the highway. all bleached and white.
the driver refused to drive further and dad took the wheels only to realise later that he had got a splinter of glass thru his iris to scracth his retina making him color blind on reds ( duke looks pink to him ).
all of us had fever for the next week. I was in class 6 at the time.
stopped driving in night rain altogether after that.

Well Actually I have been through Varandha,Tamhini,Malshej,Kumbharli ghat,Phonda Ghat,Amba ghat and Khandala ghat many times on bike and carOriginally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostHello Pune Guys...
Can someone please share any experiences of Tamhini and Varandha Ghats...? I am sure there must be so many people here who have passed these two in the dark of night. I have heard lot of stories but have never experienced anything there.
Once me and my friends (around 10-12 divided into 2 cars) were on the way back from our Raigad trip and unfortunately were stuck in Tamhini for around one hour. But were (un)fortunate enough, not to encounter any ghost out there...
Actually, our experience was more thrilling than scary... (but that's a different story..)
In Tamhini ghat,I was riding alone around 11:30 pm while coming from Raigad but other than a black cat with shiny hair near the dhaba after climbing the ghat and a wild pig near aadarwadi(where one road goes down left to the reserviour and straight towards Pune.On that junction,I spotted a wild pig.But hearing the noise of my bike,it dissapeared in the dense trees) I didnt see anything paronormal
Also about Varandha ghat I have heard a lot about a women without head in white saree on amavasya day.It was amavasya day and I was riding alone on my bike from 11:00 pm to 1:30 am night but other than a snake crossing the road,I didnt see anything. Also I didnt see any vehicle pass by from Mahad till I reached Pune Satara highway from Bhor on the Varandha ghat route
The other ghat routes,I was travelling around 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm where there was ample traffic(Malshej Ghat,Amba Ghat,Khandala ghat) hence other than car, nothing was seen
But one incident I would like to tell.
I am a trekker and if nobody is with me,even then I do solo treks
One day,I planned Harishchandragad and at last moment,my other 2 friends cancelled their participation leaving me alone for the trek.
I did this solo trek to Harishchandragad from Malshej ghat the incident which I could remember forever
From Village Khireshwar,I parked my bike and started the trek.It was around 10:00 am and nobody in that dense forests.I was the only alone person.I was knowing that from Tolar Khind,I have to take left and climb rock patch and again take left towards Balekilla road through deep forests to reach the temple.
Almost walking 2 kms in forests,I was sure that atleast for 3 to 4 kms, there is no person other than me in that forest
At one point,There was a tricky road climbing up towards right and not clearly visible due to dense trees and one broad road which I was taking was going into deep forest near the waterfall.
I thought that this broad route is the correct one and I started to move in that direction
From behind,Suddenly a old women supposed to be around 80 years old was calling me and telling "You want to go to Harishchandragad ,then come by this way and not by that way "
I was surprised because I was alone in that forest and there was nobody behind me and suddenly that old women appeared immidiately when I was walking towards wrong route
I trusted her and started walking with her.
I was talking with her and was expecting answers but she was nodding her head or speaking yes/no only.
Now after 1 hours of walking through the dense forests(The forests were really dense. It was bright sunlight around 11 am yet it was dark like almost evening),We reached Tolar Khind. She directed me the route to Harishchandragad and she told that she wants to go to village "Kothale which is still 12 kms away through that forests" and she gave me blessings in Marathi of "God bless you my son" .From that spot,I was to take left and that old women towards right
I was surprised a old women of around 80 walking 19 kms from Khireshwar to Kothale
After 1 or 2 seconds,Believe me or not ,I turned back and other than me,there was nobody in that dense forest.I really dont know who that old woman was from where she went(She actually came when I was about to miss my trek route. She guided me to the correct route and where she gone in a flash?)
I tried to search her but was unsuccesful.I did my trek and again before sunset,I came back to the village to proceed to Pune.
But really telling, after this incident,I prefer solo treks instead of going in groups.Believe me or not but I did difficult forts in Sahyadris like Ajoba(Birth place of Lav-Kush),Siddhagad,Kulang and Madangad alone and that too succesfully without any guide.
I was succesful to trek alone and explore vast Ghanchakkar mountain (1532 meters) Maharashtra's third highest mountain (after Kalsubai(1648 meters) and Salher(1567 meters)
Ghanchakkar was the mountain where I got to see thousands of quartz crystals from small size to big enough that it would require 2 people to lift it.No trekker in Sahyadris mention of Ghanchakkar because it is at very remote place and trekking group goes there once in 3 to 4 years but I did this whole vast mountain by walking 50 kms in one day plus travelling on bike from Pune and back(around 400 kms)
also I did Salher,Mulher,Mangi-Tungi alone
My positiveness has tremendously increased after that Harishchandragad experienceLast edited by pankajshirke; 05-19-2012, 12:17 AM.

Ya it was strange because after that incident, delibrately I went alone to Harishchandragad 2 times through the same Malshej-Khireshwar-Tolar Khind route but I didnt see that old women again(Maybe now I correctly know the trek route).I was only able to see fox near Harishchandragad balekilla and 2 porcupines in forests near Tolar Khind while trekking for second and third time respectivelyOriginally posted by princesirohi View Postpretty strange ...i never saw any of these paranormal ladies..
I dont know whether the old lady was a paranormal one or normal one because the forests near Tolar Khind of Harishchandragad are really very very dense.within a flash things dissapear at that point because visibility there is very less due to dense trees but this dissappearance was somewhat faster(just one or 2 seconds and an old women of 80 years vanished in that dense forests was something strange)
Secondly I had travelled alone night time on bike through Varandha ghat,Tamhini ghat,Khandala ghat,Malshej Ghat,Kasara Ghat,Kumbharli ghat in dense Koyna forests where there was absoloutely nobody yet I didnt get any scary paranormal experience .At Kumbharli ghat,I was able to hear scary sound of bears only
I delibrately travel through Varandha Tamhini ghats during night all alone to record some paranormal activity but till now in 8 years,I am unsuccesful
I forgot to mention n my earlier post but after that Harishchandragad experience,I dont know how but now I am not afraid of anything.
While trekking Kulang alone,I was climbing it down in evening and almost near Kulangwadi,in dense trees,I spotted a Leopard some 50 to 100 feets away from me .I stood quietly and also that Leopard didnt mind to bother me.He didnt even bother to roar, stare etc he dissapeared in the trees as if he hasnt seen me and I also came back to Kulangwadi without hurrying as if I have not seen anything and surprisingly during this Kulang trek,I didnt have any weapon for self defence(Not even a small piece of shaving blade)
Before the Harishchandragad experience,I was afraid of even a sound of monkey coming in forest but now even if I see a Leopard,I was not afraid.
This is the difference in me after that Harishchandragad experience

Nice experience. Now why dont you try for white mountains instead of green onesOriginally posted by pankajshirke View PostI spotted a Leopard some 50 to 100 feets away from me .I stood quietly and also that Leopard didnt mind to bother me.He didnt even bother to roar, stare etc he dissapeared in the trees as if he hasnt seen me
