Abhi, your the first person to say that the movie is not up to the mark of all the reviews I have heard. Anyway, the way different people see things is different.

Of all the reviews, I see 90% of them telling it to be a master art piece that sets bench mark in movie history that nobody can match in the coming years too. Heard some people got shocked to see the visuals.

My tickets are booked on Monday at Prasads IMAX 3D. Cannot wait to watch.
Maybe , I expected a Hollywood WAR film this time.

We don;t expect an epic love story from Hollywood. We have Bollywood for that.

      • Watched three movies this weekend on my computer...

        * Porky's - The big daddy of all the stupid teen comedies that are here today. There were scenes where I was laughing like a maniac on the sleepy winter night and had to pause the movie to refill the juices.

        * The Hurt Locker - A nice portrayal of the cost of wars on both the sides, as well as the innocents involved.

        * Mystic River - A Clint Eastwood movie that has the elements of represssive childhood memories deep inside three friends, torn apart by time and brought back together by an incident.

            • See, the thing about Avatar is the level of detailing that has been given to Pandora and life in it, if you know what I mean. There have been good number of movies based on aliens in the past but none has gone to the level of Avatar when it comes to the detailing. By the time you are finished watching the movie, its like you have lived in Pandora for a short time, and that's saying something!

When it comes to special effects and that it took so many years in making due to lack of certain technology that Cameron developed with his team, you have to feel it in small details and you'll know what James Cameron has achieved. He shared this technology with Peter Jackson, and the Golum character in LOTR is a sort of result of that when it comes to the liveliness of a computer generated humanoid character.

In Avatar, the Navis (people of Pandora) were as much alive as real humans, something actually haven't been seen before, close to it may be but that's it. I have read that people found 1st half boring, but actually, that 1st half made the the 2nd half and the whole movie. James Cameron wanted to show everyone what he has done to Pandora and the life on it. It is the reason why the main character, Jake Sully, becomes the Navi himself in the end and leaves his life as a human.

The battle scenes in the end are really epic and watching them made me think that James Cameron should direct the Halo or Half Life movie, if they materialize.

I am going to watch it again

Agree with you. Have seen Avatar in IMAX 3D today. I have no words to describe it. Spellbinding, amazing, stunning, stupendous, gorgeous, magnificent, jaw-dropping, edge-of-the seat; all these words are not even enough to describe it. I call this a creation at best. It is not a cinema, it is an experience. I, the human, felt belittled before those Navis; they are so real that may be humans are not real and.

The best experience you get when you watch it on IMAX 3D. The battle scenes are breathtaking and so real.

Guess, I am going to watch again and again. It is a visual feast. I wish I am one of the Navis.

                            • Saw AVATAR yesterday in IMAX 3D.

All the movie can be talked about is DETAILING. the attention given to the each and every part of the detail is excellent. We can the graphics as top notch quality. Hardly we can find any flaws in it.

Its like a pleasant dream thats most of us have seen in the childhood, everything is glowing around and all the fantasy world. Creatures in the movie are one of the main aspect. Again the level of detailing done on them is excellent. Infact I found creatures (flying lizards, Dog like creatures and the Toruk thing) to be nicely done than avatars. It doesnt appear to be an animated movie though.

Story, isnt much exciting. But the screenplay takes over that. So no problem with it. Direction is as usual top notch, James cameroon as has used all the characters in the movie very well. I read some one saying that it appears to be more of love story, I dint feel that. It was there. but not dominant.

All in all, Excellent movie to watch. Especailly in 3D. a Must watch.
