finally watched avtaar 3D in IMAX BIG screen and came out with not-so-happy-not-so-sad face ..it was okayish type..no suspense,no thrills...just straight forward battles ..ah not enough fun in first half but i enjoyed second half...apart from the CGI and the amount of detailing pandora has undergone..the film has nothing to tell..
Full credit goes to the grafix for making this film a blockbuster ..
anyway i felt that the 200 i spent was not wasted because of great grafix and 3D effects
somehow i felt that by wearing 3D glasses the amount of brightness reduced to great extent..it was dark and dull ..but the clarity was superb
ps:
just my opinion

I would have to agree with you. I was expecting something different from the usual a messiah-comes-to-rescue for a civilization in distress.Case in point is the movie "Time Machine" which was so similar to Avatar.Originally posted by ceasar View Postfinally watched avtaar 3D in IMAX BIG screen and came out with not-so-happy-not-so-sad face ..it was okayish type..no suspense,no thrills...just straight forward battles ..ah not enough fun in first half but i enjoyed second half...apart from the CGI and the amount of detailing pandora has undergone..the film has nothing to tell..

For me the Avatar was just an over-hyped visual spectacle.May be I was expecting too much from James Cameron. The amount of detailing gone into each and every bit of the movie/Pandora is awesome even though i havent watched it in 3D or IMAX.But i didnt find the special effects to be breathtaking and was comparable to other movies which i have watched recently.Eg: Transformers 2
Watched another movie:3 Idiots. What a movie, a flawless one in every sense.Had a dejavu experience of my engineering days.Hats off to Aamir Khan for keeping the script as priority over anything else.

Atlast even i watched Avtaar today at Prasads Imax 3D I do totally agree with you about the story & every thing is much predictable & was a bit disappointed with all the hype for the movie. But one thing is that it is a visual treat to the eyes.Originally posted by ceasar View Postfinally watched avtaar 3D in IMAX BIG screen and came out with not-so-happy-not-so-sad face ..it was okayish type..no suspense,no thrills...just straight forward battles ..ah not enough fun in first half but i enjoyed second half...apart from the CGI and the amount of detailing pandora has undergone..the film has nothing to tell..

Now dont get me wrong.Even i am a hardcore CGI fan but then the script has to be strong enough to make the CGI worth it.
I liked the movie 2012 very much even though the CGI was nothing much to rave about or the script for that matter. What matters is a fine balance of both which grips and keeps you excited you till the end.

exactly! CGI should not become a movie..Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostNow dont get me wrong.Even i am a hardcore CGI fan but then the script has to be strong enough to make the CGI worth it.

watched FIGHT CLUB(1999)
this movie had me thinking, really, about my illucination,my darker side...really a thought provoking movie..i felt that the title of this movie should be something else not a fight club....its not about fight club, its about fighting our darker side ..the title is misleading
brad pitt is awesome as tyler in this film, his character in this movie would nver be forgotten..such an impact he leaves on u,norton was also good this movie lures you into it before turning you upside down..

rating 10/10
iam gonna watch this movie again

Fight Club is an excellent movie. It is strange that I have not watched it yet and never got hold of this movie. Need to get the DVD.
Last Sunday, I went to Musicworld and bought Million Dollar Baby DVD for just 100 bucks. Also bought 'Reservoir Dogs' for 200 bucks.
Million Dollar Baby - It is one of that rare kind of movies that will have strong impression in your mind. I have already watched it twice. After watching Gran Torino and Changeling recently and now the MDB, I started to admire Clint Eastwood as a great director. Planning to watch his other movies (Mystic River, Unforgiven, Letters from Iwo Jima)
Reservoir Dogs - Directed by Quentan Tirantano, this movie got rave reviews and after watching Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Bastards, started admiring him. I am yet to watch this movie, may be tomorrow or weekend.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
