How Many times I crashed....?
Well Here goes the list:

1. My elder cousin sister entered college and as i used to go to school with her, I got a bicycle of my own(first 2 wheeler ever). On my way to school on the first day, on a blind corner, oblivious to all the traffic rules[I was 10], i undercut and a scooter was coming right towards me. Panicked and jumped from the cycle. had a few scratches and cuts but nothing serious.

2. Trivandrum march 2013: i intended to turn right from a T bend and saw a guy on FZ coming really fast. Stopped for him to passs and Wham. A family on scooty stopped for me but a guy on car was travelling at such a speed that he was unable to stop in time. He hit the scooty, the scooty hit me and i fell down. Some cuts and scratches again but the only thing that broke on my brand new NS was its rear footrest. Speed range: 0-1 kmph.

3. Back in bangalore, was waiting outside my office(Infosys) for my roommate when a lady on scooty, came from the opposite side and hit me straight on the leg guards. A hairline fracture, one week bed rest and a missed ride later, back to office. Speed: Absolute 0kmph

4. Was returning from electronic city flyover back from office. And it started to rain. Was doing around 60kmph when had to break as a cab was entering into the traffic from the layoff bay. The rear tires locked and i slipped. Thankfully had my helmet and jacket and even the gloves. Again came out safe and unscathed. Speed range: 60-70kmph

I was coming out of a turn, and jsut starting to accelerate. a dumbass decides to comeout from behind a parked car making it impossible for me to stop on time. i jam both the brakes and the front disc lock up and the bikes skid and T-bones his front mudguard. i fall down and severely scratch the chin of my helmet. and i also have a cut on my left palm, and a bruise on my left knee.
thankfully, there were some good auto drivers nearby who came for my support, they picked up my CBZ and park it to the side of the road.
the first thing i do when i get up is punch the guy in the face, on the nose. i ask the dumbo to take out his RC, bike papers and licence. obviously, he doesnt have any. he tries to apologise and almost cries. :P but i was very very angry coz it was a busy intersection and there was a lorry right behind me. through god's grace i came out of that crash without any major injuries.

so to teach the guy a lesson, i hold his collar and push him away from his splendor and then take out the keys from the ignition and pocket it. my CBZ front mudguard had a crack, and his front mudguard had broken into two.

i put his keys in my pocket and sped off to some distance, and stop behind another turn, away from his line of sight. there i call up my roommate and ask him to come. we appear again after 30mins, and the guy is running here and there asking the auto wallas to help him. but even the auto wallas say that it was his fault and he is so relieved to see me.

i take ~1000 for the bumper from him.

You and I have similar reaction in such conditions.
I too ended up taking money from a car owner who smashed my car's rvm mirror due to his negligence.

I don't think of it as being miser or anything, we can spend thousands or lakhs on our ride on our own wish. But 8 it gets damaged for no fault of ours, we need to force money out of them, so that the idiots learn a lesson and we don't have to waste our time for insurance claim!

I was waiting at an intersection, and the road which I was waiting, was a single lane but a wide road. I was waiting in the rightmost lane, with a van on my left, I wasn't taking up his space, the exit was wide enough for both of us. But then, a mid aged guy comes in his Toyota etios, and stops on my right side, with hardly 6 inches between our rear view mirrors. I thought, he must be in a hurry, I will let him go.

But as soon as the signal turned green, I accelerated very slowly, allowing him to go first, but he steered left to avoid oncoming traffic, and his left rvm smashed my right side rvm. He steered so sharply to left, as if he didn't even see me!

I tried to avoid it by going left, but couldn't do it cuz of the van. I got crazy and hyper angry, and just after 20 meters, I over took him and blocked his path.
Turns out, this guy had a thick convex spects, maybe of power of around -8. And his car had previous damages to the bumpers, radiator, left door, and tail lights! Clearly, he was a bad driver! Anyways, I scolded him a lot and took his keys. He immediately apologised and started giving explanations.

But I kept insisting that it was his completely negligent and incapable driving which caused this. He requested me to get insurance claim, but I was in no mood to waste even a single minute due to this. And that time, I didn't have no dep policy. So I forced him to pay for the mirror, around 3800 for the company standard rvm.

I don't feel bad for that guy at all. He shouldn't be driving when he can't control the car! I didn't abuse him physically, I talked respectfully due to his age. But if he would have done the same to any hotheaded guy, he would have got beaten up pretty bad! I even hugged him afterwards and apologised for abusing.

German road laws are so good in this respect. They impound a driving licence and its gone forevaaa...

That's why the German roads are so good.

So i am on a two laned road riding at around 70kmph and there's this XUV 500 in front of me. Suddenly, the car starts braking without any reason and i have to switch lanes, immediately after which i see a man with a board of the size of the road trying to cross the road who had just escaped the xuv's wrath and is now in front of me.(50m away apprx.) Then the panic braking takes place and i apply both the brakes due to which the bike slips and i manage to leave the bike in that split second and i skid on the road for at least 10m and i also see my beloved gixxer skidding with me and it stops about 20m away from me. I am then rescued by the nearby people and i find myself with two bruised knees, a slightly cut palm and a torn trouser and sweater. Its so freaking cold that my hands get all frozen up by getting in contact with the cold tarmac and they go completely numb. The guy comes to me and apologizes and i just ask him to go away not wanting to create a scene. I am then offered watered by one fellow i drink it and thank all the people who helped me. My bike's taillight suffers and the leg guard manages to save the most of it. The tank gets some scratches and there are some scratches on the grab rail.

After all, i fathom how idiot people in India are and how we need better traffic laws, not only for the vehicles but for the pedestrians too.

And how much you need good riding gear. At least we should change what is in our hands. Invest money in gear and save yourself.

Agree with you , the pedestrians crossing road randomly is the biggest fear of any biker in India

Just replaced my RTR's front left bottom tube. An auto rickshaw trying to avoid a pothole comes on to me and I swerve to the right of the road. Same time the auto guy swerves to the right. Head on with the auto and after a bang the bike stands straight. Was saved by slow speed and less traffic. But my front left indicator is broken and left fork bent. The rickshaw's whole front fiber panels are done with and its fork bent. I had to give him some money as he was about to cry, even though it was his fault. Poor guy has a family to feed. My total loss is ~ INR 3000. and Panic breaking didn't work and I think I will have to bleed the break lines.

This one becomes my second major crash on my RTR in three years. Mind, body and spirit needs to be at one place. Otherwise you are bound to make bad decisions. I should've just stopped hard and stayed in my lane. Even though the auto guy was on my lane I should have left his wits to think for himself rather than me thinking for him.

Crash 1: rx100

This happened way back in 1997, I can never forget that day its was 31st Dec n there was slight rain in Mumbai, enough to fill pot holes. I had just started learning how to ride. Its was chilling out so i was at home watching tv..when one of my friend came to tell there is an small cruise ship at our beach...so excitedly i took bike along with friend wearing just shorts and T-shirt kick started drove out in the light drizzle...i started shivering badly due to cold n couldn't control the acceleration caused because of my shivering...n was down on the gravel...this all happened at just 50 mtrs from my home....my left leg got scratch.. No damage to bike..

Crash 2: again rx100

Again in rainy season in 2001 was going for tuitions...was just wearing windcheater.(note in those years helmet was not so popular and mandatory).. First experience of riding in rain....had been warned by dad about road conditions in first rain will b slippery..so cautiously riding slow at 30/40 kms...one guy slipped ahead of me and in panic me too hit the brakes hard...not to mentioned what happened next ..got up mustered courage and hit the road again after some distance there was few bikers picking up their rides from...watching them tried to slow down and there i go again..I felt as if i was riding on ice..

Crash 3: p 150 classic

Along with friend coming back from town...happened to cross school so slowed down..went over speed breaker and was just about to accelerate....and a boy crossed my path n with panic hit front disk n we both went down...no major damage to bike..just bent key of petrol lock..no damage to us too...no riding gears..not even helmet...

Crash 4: Zma

It was sunday so i was coming back home after playing Cricket match(2008)...so in order to overtake a rickshaw... I put my bike in way of divider..which was couple of inches below from the road..so while coming back out my bike skid n i fell on left side...no damage to bike just a small scratch..n small bruise for me..again no helmet..

Note: All my crashes(except for the last) are from the time, when there was no awareness about road safety..and very few people used to wear helmet..But time has changed..Now i wear helmet, no other riding gears.

7 crashes in total from 1998 to 2014 with the second being a big crash and two of the other six being minor skids with no injury to me or the bike. Other times were at traffic lights hitting or getting hit by signal jumpers and idiots who cross while looking in the wrong direction.

Puri - CD-100SS- was going for my tuition classes. I was like 40-50kmh, took a left turn for station road. Boom had a head on collision with an Ambassador Car. My right leg got hurt, I came to the side of road holding my knee was unable to walk at that moment. So is sat on a bench of a small shop. Then a Gyani Uncle ji came and said to me son don’t sit go and run some distance it’ll be all right, I was like what the F%#@! . Got up had no money. I drove the bike straight to my tuition. Both the front shock absorber were so much bend that I was holding the handle to right and the bike was going straight

Same year same bike
Puri - CD-100SS- Again returning home from tuition. It was 9pm and road was empty. Pick up the speed to 90 kmh. Some idiot a dug had dug the road straight form end to end, so I thought why slow down ill make way from left. Another idiot left a small mixture of sand & cement dune on side of road. I did a Evel knievel, when I landed, bike was thrown 50ft to one side and I was dragged on my face [yup no helmet] for 20ft or so. My face was gone and my pillion friend was unable to sit straight and be conscious. Lesson learned, till date. Even if I go for small market 1 km away I always ware helmet.

Bhubaneswar Damn same bike
Coming back home after dropping my father at bus stop at 10pm. Some dog went into some shop, the shopkeeper throws water on the dog and the dog came out laughing and ran across the road, failed to see me and got below by bike. Man I was like 30-40kmh applied both brakes and did a somersault

It was a circle [five road connections at same place and everybody goes round and round] a cycle came before me. Hit him at 30kmh his rear rim become chanda mama . There was a 15 min verbal fight, he threaten me to call police, in the end I ask him to show his licence & he showed me a movie ticket . We both laugh and became friends. Went to a cycle shop ask about damage paid half the amount [40bucks] went away.

Touchwood no accident till now and I don’t want to see any again.

Hi friends...

Just crashed yesterday...Was slowing down on a signal when an idiot who had already halted his car ahead opened his door to spit water...Boom.

No injury however bike and helmet had scratches...Came to office and gave my bike to sticker shop a few meters ahead and told him to cover scratches on fairing...and this is what he did .

So now i have 3 yamaha logos on front fairing with two fire flames...Damage was only on left side but he did the same on right to give a symmetrical look.
