1st crash - Honda dio, Rainy season in Bangalore, was coming back from the city railway station after dropping my friend. A lonely gully early in the morning, dog doing cabaret dance in front :-) . Braked hard and fell down. No damage, not even scratches, since I was wearing sweater inside. Riding gear - Full-face helmet.

2nd crash - While returning back from Goa, was riding with a friend of mine. Around 2 in the night,NH4 and suddenly my headlight brought my worst nightmare into light, a truck took a sharp turn from middle lane straight into service road, on the right lane, a big lorry was crawling at low speed. I braked hard, but there was neither space to squeeze through nor did I have enough braking distance. Was crusing at 110-115 then. Braked hard and crashed straight into that lorry's rear tyre. Survived the crash with just a few ligament damages in the shoulder and knee. No bruises, at all. This happened two months back, was extremely lucky to have came through this alive. Riding gear - Full face SOL SF1 helmet, riding jacket, knee guards, woodland hard-sole boot and riding gloves.

1st crash: I was in 7th class, riding my bicycle with my friends in my colony, everything was going well when suddenly saw my little sister on her bicycle coming towards me with great speed, as she was about 15 meters away, she changed the lane and came to my side of the road and WHAAM. I was thrown off my cycle to the side and she flew off hers and rolled under a parked car. Both of us got skinned elbows and knees, no serious injuries.

2nd crash:11th class and going to school on my cycle, there is a 4 way crossing without a roundabout just before my school and as usual I was negotiating the turn when WHAAM three school kids on a red pulsar hit me from the left side and fled from the scene. I got up picked up my cycle and carried on. No serious injuries, my right hand thumb pained for a few days.

3rd crash:12th class and going to pick up my sister from school on my Activa. I was riding at about 60 kmph and on the same four way crossing (described in crash 2), a uncle was crossing the road on his splendor, I honked and he kept on moving till he was in the middle of the road and then stopped the bike perpendicular to the road. I braked but couldn't stop in time and crashed into his leg guard. The front mudguard of my activa cracked and jammed the front wheel. I did not get hurt at all this time but the activa wont move because of the jammed front wheel. The police man standing at the crossing scolded the man for stopping his bike in the middle of the road, then realised my activa wont budge an inch, so he helped me drag it to the side and then left me in misery. Now a shopkeeper who was watching all this for a long time came to my help and seeing this a fruit seller, a chai wala also came to my aid. They helped me to twist the mudguard, so that it may clear the wheel and the activa could be taken home. So after 15 minutes of pulling and tying it with a cord the wheel moved freely and I went to school to pick up my sister. Fortunately I was not hurt, not even a little bit.

4th crash: B.Tech 3rd year, going to college on my friend's discover, filled petrol and checked air and off I went.The front tire had three minute punctures, so the air started leaking very slowly, the journey was uneventful, but 100 meters from the college and the chain came off the rear sprocket and made a loud noise (KAT KHAT KHAT). I panic braked and jammed the front brakes. Now the air was very low in the front tire and was almost flat, and it jammed throwing me off the bike.

fortunately some junior students were coming a few meters behind me and stopped to help. Got bruised elbows and my back pained for about a week. nothing serious. the bike had scratched visor.

Only 2 minor.

1. I had pulsar 180 dtsi, around 10 years back. I was not new to disc brakes, but got over confident on braking without seeing the road condition. There was a railway crossing ahead, with gate closed and people waiting. I was riding at around 40, but thought i would keep going, and stop right before the gate! But there was a slightly elevated speed bump, which thwarted my plans. So I braked hard just 15 meters from the gate, but there was gravel on the road, and i skid and fell to the left instantly. No damages except to my ego! And people were staring at me like anything!

2. In pune, the road going towards bharati vidyapeeth (katraj area) is a long concrete (read polished glass like) road, elevated at around 30-35 degrees, which is elevated throughout it's length of around 2.5 kms. So, everyone tries to keep their vehicle in high speed to avoid stalling and frequent gear changing. Again I had my pulsar 180 with me, riding solo. One fine afternoon, I was going at the speed of 50, first I was in the left lane, then I quickly changed to right lane as it was empty and an auto rickshaw was driving slowly in the left. But as soon as I came on the right side, suddenly 3 fat ladies jumped in front of me from the left side! Actually they were standing on the left side of the road, and decided to act like a hero, they first came in front of the auto rickshaw (invisible to me due to the auto in between us), then to avoid that, they quickly leaped towards right, just in front of me! There was not even 0.05 seconds to brake! And to my right, there is a 6 feet high wall/divider! So I RAMMED into them with a thud, and fell to my right side. Again, no injuries to me or the bike (thanks to the cushioning effect of their fat!). But seeing those cows fell down, people started shouting on me, and I quickly got up, shouting madly at those cows and everyone who was messing with me, while relentlessly trying to start the bike! Normally it takes time after such crashes due to overflowing of carburettor, luckily my bike started in around 5 seconds. And I sped off from there without any regrets or injuries!

Both times I was wearing a full face helmet.

But now, I drive very very cautiously. I keep it in my mind that "if I trust anybody else to act as expected by me, I won't be alive for long". Simply to say, I think that everyone on the road is trying to get me killled! So, I don't trust any other driver to drive prudently. I assume that they will brake anytime without thinking, turn left/right without seeing and collide with me, anyone riding behind me won't maintain gap according to his braking power and ram into me if I brake hard, and so on!

I have seen and read about thousands of such accidents caused by stray animals jumping in front of vehicles. Hence, for the past 6 years, I automatically slow down a little on seeing animals or children on road, even if they are on the other lane and there is a divider between us, after all they can jump across the divider like a rocket!

Due to such tense driving, my mind and arms are tired too easily, whereas brakes, clutch plates are worn out much quicker, but that's a small price to pay compared to horrible accidents!

Is the pig OKAY?
In school days I've heard a lot of pig stories like nothing will happen to a pig even if gets hit by a lorry etc and I wanted to test. I purposely hit a piglet with my bicycle and the piglet left as if nothing had happened(Don't ask what happened to me).

Kimi indeed fought in the pitlane when Hamilton hit him from behind...he was showing the Pit lane lights to him . I very well remember this incident .

While I was travelling to office today, A f idiot just jumped from the median while I was doing 60-70 kmph and was wondering whether he should cross the road or not. He was totally unpredictable. I stopped right in front of his legs and gave him a huge slap. He held his cheek and was shouting at me. I again threatened to slap him. He walked away. Luckily I wasn't hit by anybody.

Surprised as I end up with the same kinda idiots on my way to office everyday.. difference being, I can't slap.. reason, stupid girls with no brain.. damn.. they cross even after seeing a vehicle coming.. they walk so slow as if they own the road..

Sorry Divya, It was not intentional. He was wavering which side to go and I couldn't predict. So I just applied the brakes and stood and hit him. I lost my temper there.

Whenever such stuff happens I have conditioned myself to laugh at the situation.
Once an aunty ran onto my path but I braked easily since I was hardly doing 30. I braked and laughed at her. She shrugged and asked me why am I laughing at her? I said, despite her best efforts to commit suicide, she failed. Wished her luck for the next attempt and moved on.

Sorry to hear about your incident.
But remember, in our nation, the bikers are always regarded as the culprit by default!
So, if pedestrians intervene in such altercation, they would shout on the biker for driving fast, not being careful etc! I think these pedestrians are jealous of every f*king vehicle owner, and readily jump on an opportunity to verbally/physically abuse them!

You were lucky, no one tried to mess with you. But please don't lose your temper next time, it will work against you on a crowded road.
