I am planning to get this. Got a few questions:

    1. Is this a genuine product ?
    2. Will it have English as an option or just Chinese ?
    3. How long is the battery life when I record on 1080p 30fps ?
    4. Does it have image stabilization ?
    5. Should I get the YI or spend 2k more and get the below

Also, is this website reliable ?
Not sure of the website as such.

The YI doesn't come with the waterproof casing in the bundle. Have to purchase is separately.

Most of these cams have instructions to switch to English. So no worries on that front.

Regarding the battery life even a GoPro doesn't give more than 1 - 1.5 hours of recording.

These are good options while on a tight budget and will give you the best value for the money. If you're good at editing then you will surely be able to get some outstanding results with the video footage.
PS. I don't own any of these cams. Just few things I've learnt after researching

Thank you so much for your input.

I am on a tight budget and hence getting this. I'll probably get this from amazon or some other known website.

I do have professional help to edit my stuff so I'm good at the editing part.

      Thanks again for your input.

        Guys

I've been going to several blogs/websites/reviews on numerous action camera available and I have finalized on the above. I am sorry to spam this thread with a similar kind of a question over and over again. I just need some clarity before investing for one.

It would be greatly appreciated if I someone can let me know which one I can order. I have less than a week's time as a friend would be bringing it from the US.

        My requirements:
        1. Decent battery life 100 minutes max.
        2. Will 4k at 10 fps have a really choppy video ? I have chosen geekpro as it can record 4k and 2k.
        3. Loads of accessories I'm getting with all the 4.
        4. Can external mic be installed for all the 4? Or Atleast for the one you guys are suggesting me.

Once again, your inputs will help me to a great extent.

        Best

The Yi doesn't have an option for the external mix right out of the box but a few people have managed to do some sort of DIY to add an external mic to it.

Check around on YouTube and you'll manage to get it.

The xiaomi yi is a wonderful camera to work with barring the fact that there is no external mic input ..
But as mentioned in the earlier post there is a work around for this ..
With regards to the battery life I would say it is better to invest in a couple of spare batteries and a charger ..
I have got a xiaomi yi and am very happy with it ...
I have already started vlogging my last 4-5 rides ..[emoji3] [emoji3]

I think in the end it all boils down to the v loggers ability rather than which camera he / she is using ..

Thank you so much for your valuable inputs.

I have finally made up my decision to go for the GitUp2 Pro Packing.

              GitUp Git2 2K WiFi Action Camera (Pro Packing)-139.90 and Free Shipping| GearBest.com

I had to extend my budget a bit.

              Reason:
              1. External mic supported
              2. Gyro --> In India with the road condition this is a must.

I checked and it looks like I need to solder the board itself which is a big NO NO. I love the Yi but it doesnt have external mic support.

Does yi allow to capture and charge at the same time using usb power bank?. I have asked my friend to get from amazon us. I too heard the back up time is less compared to go pro

If I know correct, in dash cam mode SJ works, so if Yi works on same principle, it should do the same

Has anyone tried to fix action cam on MT Axiss helmet. The chin area is quite tapered and the curved mount doesn't seem to join properly with the helmet surface. I'm trying to create a flat surface using 3M tapes and then fixing the mount over it. Just wanted to know if there is any better approach or have this approach worked for anyone? Durability is my prime concern.

@kdevdatta : My LS2 too has curved surface in front and I have used 3M VHB Tape to fill the gap, its now almost 2 years still intact
