      10) They're way too cool to acknowledge any non-Harley riders.

      9) They're too busy daydreaming about owning a real motorcycle.

      8) Their engine is too weak to handle the added wind resistance of a waving hand.

      7) The Rottie (in back of the pickup truck with the tied down Harley) is easily upset by rapid hand movements.

      6) Are you kidding? Risk their lives trying to control a Harley with just one hand!

      5) They're too busy humming "Born to be Wild" while fantasizing about being Peter Fonda or Dennis Hopper.

      4) They're too busy figuring out how to pay for next order of genuine Harley accessories (including the "official" HD calculator needed to add up the cost).

      3) If we really have to tell you, you won't understand anyway.

      2) They can't see you because their half-shell helmet keeps falling down over their eyes.

      1) They think we are actually trying to draw their attention to the parts falling off their bikes, and they are sick and tired of it.
Point no.8 is the best. Good going
Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.

ROFL in India there are some newer generation elitist Royal Enfield riders who behave the exact same way. I came across this poser riding a Bullet (dunno which one - it looked crazily modded) fitted with some freakishly loud exhaust wearing a leather jacket with metal studs on it and a half face helmet. He had this smug look on his face like everyone else on the road was trash. I gave him the overtake and throw blue smoke on his face treatment and zipped away

Throughout my journey in Ladakh last September, I also did not get any response from big bikers especially 'Bulleteers' while driving solo in remote regions. May be I was driving Bajaj Caliber 115 only !!! But I damn care as it has proved its metal for really long rides in Ladakh as well as in Rann of Kutch besides many more and is still going great.

I am not commenting on HDs as I think only very few HDs might have covered Khardungla so far.

Aaaww!! thats not true. These HD riders are really very nice folks. Its just that they are cerebrally slow. By the time it registered to their brain to wave, they are well past visual range, so you missed them all the time. But rest assure, they do wave.

                              Friends

Why are we having this kind of discussion, when we are riding in any sort of bike...why do we only expect the other biker to wave...did we wave at any other biker

Why only a HD riders???have you ever seen any super biker waving hands on any other traveller (though in a touring attire)

All are bikers and having a Harley is not a Sin...are we jealous that a HD is crossing us?

Lets be mature and respect each biker (Small or big) and lets not look at others to do what you and me miss to do

                              Happy riding & Chill pls
Never Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.
